British holidaymakers are increasingly looking for the more eccentric events taking place around the UK, it is claimed.
Caravanners and other people looking for great days out are frequently being drawn to things that are a bit different, such as the Pershore Plum Festival, according to Visit Worcestershire.
The plum festival offers crafts and rides, special food and ales as well as music. Meanwhile the Land O'Plums Hurdle also takes place at Worcester racecourse on August 6th.
Simon Tipple from Visit Worcestershire explains: "When you go away on holiday, you're looking to do something that's out of the ordinary.
"You want to be able to enjoy yourself and these events just add a bit of quirkiness and a bit of passion to what we're all about."
Worcestershire's tourist board also recently launched a special guide leading food lovers through the best food and drink produced in the region, including a guide to the local farmers' markets.
