Practical driving test to undergo changes

A series of new measures have been introduced to the practical driving test in a bid to get motorists acquainted with following road signs, which will no doubt come in handy when heading to caravan sites.
Road safety minister Mike Penning revealed that each applicant will have to conduct ten minutes of unaided driving, during which they will be required to follow directions set out by the examiner.
The changes will come into force on October 4th and aim to be more representative of real-life driving conditions.
Mr Penning explained: "We want new drivers to be able to drive safely and independently and learning to drive test routes by rote isn't the way to achieve this."
The alterations have been welcomed by the Institute of Advanced Motorists, which said they mark a "definite step forward" and will help new drivers learn the art of multi-tasking behind the wheel.
