If you've started 2012 with the intention of walking more, then
a new Ramblers app could be just what you need to get motivated on
your caravan holidays in Wales.
The Big Welsh Walking Challenge app can be directly downloaded to
a mobile phone and is available for free as of 27 January.
There is an opportunity for walkers to try out gentle strolls,
before working their way up to more rigorous hikes over a 12-week
period.
A number of goals are set out that participants are challenged to
meet, as well as graphs to monitor progress and tips on how to get
the most out of walking.
"Wales is a great country for walking and we hope that this new
app will help even more people to discover why walking is such a
good tonic for mind, body and soul," said Angela Charlton, director
of Ramblers Cymru.
She added that the app should help people stick to their New
Year's resolutions during the months ahead.
