If you're in search of a caravan site that will give you access
to some great walks, then central Wales could be just the place to
head.
Powis Castle has come out top in a poll of the best walking
destinations of the UK, as voted for by members of the
public.
The survey was carried out as part of the National Trust's first
ever walking festival and saw various celebrities championing key
parts of the country.
Weather presenter Sian Lloyd offered her support to Powis Castle,
calling it the "best castle in the country".
Alison Dyer, assistant visitor services manager at the attraction,
said that everyone at Powis was delighted to have been given the
award.
"It is a real tribute to the beauty of Powis Castle and the joy
that many people receive from exploring our grand Italianate
terraces, dancing statues and lavish herbaceous borders," she
commented.
