Lovely gem of a site.

Spent 5 nights with our Motorhome, at this lovely peaceful quiet site. The owner Justine was charming and very attentive and helpful. The site is a huge open grass field with hard standing pitches, ours was completely level - the first time we haven’t needed to use the ramps. The pitches have masses of space between them which is what we like, it makes the stay so much more enjoyable. Individual water tap next to every pitch is a bonus too. We were slightly concerned about driving on grass ( as it can be a problem for larger motorhomes in the wet) but the ground is very firm, level and well drained, so no problem there. There is a minor road adjacent with only sporadic traffic during the day, and completely quiet at night. We used this as a base for our cycling, which enabled us to use the Deeside way both directions which is very close to the site. There are also many other small side roads to make up other routes. Also MTB trails and walking tracks in the area as well. The area has an abundance of eateries, the ones we sampled were all very good - The Boat Inn Aboyne, Finzean Farm Shop Cafe, and the Highland Bakery along from Crathie Kirk. Some good looking shops in both Ballater and Aboyne. All in all a great wee site, hope to visit again sometime in the future.
