Return visit

We have just returned from a week at Firs Cottage. Our first visit since the pandemic and this CL is still as perfect as ever. The owners Alison and Brian are so welcoming. We always say it’s like staying on someone’s front lawn! Water, waste, and recycling on each pitch as well. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area just wish the weather had been a bit kinder. We’ll be back!!!

Beautiful Site

We must agree with all the other reviews regarding this site and its facilities. It is kept immaculate by the hosts Brian & Alison. We were welcomed on arrival and shown onto our pitch by Brian who provided a levelling ramp and blocks and helped us set up. We were booked for 6 days but after 2 nights had to return home unexpectedly. They were very understanding and helpful over this. it is in a good location with plenty of places to visit without travelling long distances. We hope to return later this year to complete our holiday. Michael & Pat

Immaculate and peaceful CL

We stayed for 7 nights and found Alison and Brian to be very friendly, helpful and incredibly hard working in keeping the site so attractive and relaxing. The attention to detail and little touches added to our enjoyment of the site which is just outside the lovely market town of Much Wenlock, a delightful place with everything you could need if not wanting to travel too far. We were surprised to read of an isolated criticism of the metered ehu charge, but the pitch fee was less than most and the added ehu (less than £2 per day for normal use for a couple) still made it better value for money at £21.50 per day inclusive than so many other CLs today! For those who seek a quiet well kept adult only CL with very friendly owners and prefer to use their own facilities rather than share with others then this is definitely one for you.

Excellent

We stayed for 2 weeks we have got to say that Alison & Brian are very good hosts they work very hard to keep the caravan site in mint condition very quite a part from a couple of night when we could hear a dog that barked for a while that belonged to another site member no fault of the owners of the site We have one criticism you are charged £19.50 per night then you have to pay for your own electric on top of your site fee bearing in mind there are no showers or toilets so for us we have been honesty with our reviews couldn't fault the site as we have said but for us we wouldn't return due to having to pay for the electricity so for us the cost was quite high as we said 19.50 per night which is a total of £275.00 plus £31.00 for electric so quite expensive really

Incredible Site

We have just arrived home from a 5 night stay at Firs Cottage and can't praise it enough. It's was an easy access from the lovely market town of Much Wenlock, and we were met by Alison who said we could chose one of two pitches vacant, we chose the one which has garage parking for the car, a great bonus. Each pitch has water and waste pipes, which are provided by the owners, there is also recycling and rubbish on each one too. Electricity is extra and calculated by Brian at the end of the stay, we've found this to be the norm on CL sites now, understandable when the cost of fuel is so high, ours was under £10 for 5 nights. Alison and Brian are extremely friendly and helpful, they keep the site immaculate with beautiful gardens surrounding the pitches, it's incredibly quiet too. The area is outstanding, we're biased as we come from Shropshire but it really is. The town of Much Wenlock is very pretty with lovely independent shops, we enjoyed the museum and was very impressed with the Abbey. Further afield we visited Benthall a National Trust house, we'd been before but a long time ago. The guides we're so interesting making the history come to life. As we live not far from Much Wenlock, we've visited most of the places in the area but there is so much more to enjoy. We wanted to stay at Firs Cottage as its near enough from home for a few days away at any time of the year, we certainly hope to visit again but know it's very popular.

Absolute Gem

Immaculate adult only site, Alison & Brian are very welcoming and helpful. The grounds are beautiful. Love the extra touches, long grey waste pipe provided, individual bins on each pitch. Literally can’t find a single fault, even the toilet emptying area was pretty with a hand sanitizer provided. Alison & Brian even offered to look after the dog when I needed to visit A&E due to a knee injury and helped us fit the towing cover on the day we left as I couldn’t help with being on crutches. We will be back hopefully next year as still so much to see in the area. If you want to visit this part of the country this is most definitely the site to stay on.

A lovely CL

Our 1st vist to Firs Cottage and Mr & Mrs Rowe have created a wonderful CL. Pitches vary in size but are adequate and fully serviced, electric is metered. The CL has manicured grass areas with additional seating and flower beds etc. It's just a very very nice CL in a nice location.

Ideal site

Having looked at others’ reviews it is hard to come up with anything new. We agree with all their comments. Our two-week stay was enhanced by being able to sit overlooking a peaceful, pretty, extremely well loved garden tended by Brian Alison. We loved the extra touches: waste pipe, blocks for legs of caravan if needed and individual waste bins for general/recycling of waste. Our hosts were very welcoming and keen to impart local knowledge The site is in an ideal location for sightseeing as there is so much to do and see in the area and we very much hope to return.

A lovely site.

We have been to this site before and it does not disappoint. Alison and Brian are lovely and there to meet you on arrival. Since the last time we were there they have put a cabinet for your rubbish on every pitch which is lovely. Hopefully we will be able to go back as Much Wenlock is a lovely place and the surrounding area. Thank you for a lovely stay.
