The Courts CL

A lovely immaculate peaceful place to stay. Highly recommended, beautiful woodland walks from the site, and a very helpful owner Paul. We will be back soon.

A Greatly Needed Facility for the Village, and Perfectly Created

We're used to staying on CLs and paying approximately £15 p.n., although the going rate seems to be creeping up to cover energy-costs etc. I was a little apprehensive about paying £30 per night, but booked as it's the only site in the area where we wanted to stay. The site is brand new and maintained pristinely, and must have been a huge investment for the owners, with state-of-the-art fully-serviced pitches, all separated by healthy laurels which will mature into lovely hedges. The location is perfect, on the edge of gorgeous woodland, with both central Danbury and the river Chelmer/Paper Mill Lock less than two miles away (to the south and north) through fabulous woodland/countryside walks. Our 7 nights went far too quickly, and it was a real wrench to drag ourselves away. This is a much-needed facility within the beautiful district of Little Baddow/Danbury, and we will DEFINITELY make time to return at least once a year. It was certainly worth every penny!

Stunning small campsite

Arrived in April to a very warm welcome from Paul. The site is immaculate and set in a sheltered hollow. All 5 pitches are fully serviced and on gravel. It is so peaceful there. Just outside the site is a walk through the woods and the bluebells are spectacular. This leads on to further walks in beautiful countryside with some amazing views. Paul was a mine of information helping choose our daily trips and local eateries. We visited Maldon, Chelmsford, the tea rooms at the lock and The Tin Roof at a brilliant garden centre. We also walked to Olio, the local restaurant, twice as it was soo good. They welcome dogs. Our stay was perfect. Thank you Paul. We were in a Motorhome. Our friends have a caravan, so it was easy to get around.

Immaculately kept campsite

Lovely small campsite in amazing setting which is kept immaculate. A lot of hard work has gone into making this site absolutely perfect in every way including fully serviced pitches. There’s some beautiful walks direct from the site and loads of sightseeing around the area. The local pub serves excellent food and is only a five minute walk, it also allows dogs in the bar area. Brilliant site with great owners, would highly recommend.

A perfect site for exploring Essex

We spent a wonderful week at The Courts campsite in March. We were given a very warm welcome by Paul and Collette who described the site facilities and local attractions. These included the local pub where we spent a very enjoyable evening. The site was immaculately clean and well maintained with fully serviced pitches. Paul also explained the plans that he has to further enhance the site in the coming years, so it can only get better. The WIFI on the site is excellent. The local area provides many opportunities for days out with beautiful walks and scenery. We would highly recommend this site to anyone planning a visit to Essex.

Great stay

What a very pleasant stay, ease of arrival and great directions from Paul. The site is truly a great place to visit Very well laid out, the fully serviced pitches are a real pleasure and make setting up on arrival extremely easy. The site is any easy 30 minute walk from Paper mill lock and tea rooms. We will most definitely be visiting again

Second visit as good as the first!

Although we live just a few miles away The Courts is a treat. Paul and Collette are very welcoming, the site is so well maintained and there’s much to do locally. Also, unlike many sites, the WiFi is brilliant, we were able to stream TV with no problems at all. I’m sure we’ll visit again soon.

Perfection!

Just home from 3 nights on this exceptional site located in extensive woodland starting just outside the gate. Warm welcome from the owner and his wife who are experienced motorhomers who have designed there CL site to their specifications. Fully serviced hard standings and free Wi-Fi. It is impossible to rate this site too highly and I will certainly be back

What a great site

From the first contact with Paul to book from leaving a first-class experience. The site is fantastic, and the pitches are huge. Walks from the site are excellent, with plenty of countryside around. Dog walking heaven. A pub that is very dog friendly and has wonderful food 2 minutes up the road. We will definitely be back. Thanks Paul
