Our Favourite Club Campsite to Date

We normally stay at CLs as we prefer the size and more relaxed and quiet locations, however I think this site even surpasses the CLs. The location is great, on the side of Derwent Water, in the trees, just the sound of the birds...mostly. Plenty walks from site, Cat Bells and High Spy are behind the site and you can walk on to the hill. There is a path round Derwent Water, takes about 4 hours, c2 hours to Keswick. You have the options of the ferry to take you to Keswick or a very good bus service. Cycling from our experience is good for road cycling , not so good for off road, but the side roads were quiet, although some looked very steep therefore were avoided. On site the staff were very friendly, facilities were ideal, TV Booster worked a treat, chemical waste was spotless and the drive over grey waste disposal looked new. We will definitely look to stay at Borrowdale again.
