Stunning views

The couple running this site are delightful - friendly, helpful and cheerful. We have been to the Borrowdale site several times before because it's one of our favourites, the site is very quiet, even in the school holidays because of it's fairly unique layout. The pitches are gravelled over and mostly level (nothing a couple of wedges can't put right). There are walks in all directions to small villages, up into the hills, down to the shores of Derwentwater - whatever takes your fancy. The Mary Mount Hotel & Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa are across the field if you fancy a restaurant meal - roughly 15-20 mins walk. There is a superb farm shop and cafe in Rosthwaite, well within walking distance of the site and the food is outstanding and you can even cheat and get the bus back to Grange Bridge as the Keswick/Seatoller/Keswick circular goes through the valley roughly every 30 minutes or so. Keswick is a bit of a walk but on a nice day it's well worth it and Lingholm Estate is roughly halfway for coffee/snacks etc and then catch the ferry back. All in all it is simply a great place for a relaxing break. (Only small downside is the lack of a facilities block but that won't stop us going!)
