Great for Walkers
First time here, stayed 3 nights. Site is sheltered being in an ex quarry, the facilities were modern and always clean, and for the best part most pitches were reasonably flat. Wardens were friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout our stay, and the site shop sold bread and milk to tie you over before having to go to shops (plus some lovely cakes and cheese). Only downside from our point of view was the central bin area at the site entry, much preferred bins at the service points. Some great walks around the site if you don’t mind some hills. Went to Buxton, a lovely town with its late Victorian architecture, 8 pubs and lots of cafes plus some good independent shops. Also went to High Peak Bookstore and Cafe, worth a visit if only for the refreshments. Certainly would return, but you will need to like walking or have a car to take you off site
