We booked this site for 4 nights to attend the military tattoo and a couple of other attractions locally. The site was a little cramped, but I can accept that for a city centre site. The facilities are a little dated, but kept spotlessly clean as per all CAMC sites we have stayed on. The road leading to the site is a bit bumpy to say the least. This road leads down to a large loop at the beach which the boy racers seemed to use until late, the noise from the road was bad. The site is also under the flight path to Edinburgh airport. You can identify the flight carrier by name under the plane they are that low. This is approx every 20 mins from about 6am until 1am, apparently you get used to it! This made it unbearable to us, so a 4 night stay was quickly changed to a 2 night stay. The staff could not be more helpful in helping us arrange alternative booking in another CAMC site, can’t fault the staff for this. None of the faults mentioned are in the hands of the CAMC club and it is not a reflection on the staff, but the location itself is very noisy, we would certainly avoid it in future.
