First Class Kendal

Just returned from two wonderful weeks at the Kendal site. The wardens were brilliant, friendly, extremely helpful and very hard working. The pitches are tucked away in amongst beautiful woodland with lots of easy access roads and delightful walks, including the river walk. It is the second time we have stayed at this site and will hope to return. We have just changed our caravan to a large 8ft twin axle, were staying for two weeks (plus awning) but when we first arrived after searching the pitches it seemed that there was nowhere suitable for us, but a word with the wardens Jan and Mick and they got on their radios to solve the problem for us. They kindly arranged to delay some maintenance work they had planned, removed the cones blocking the pitches and took us to a suitable pitch. It was ideal. All the wardens were amazing and were always available for a quick chat or a piece of advice. One day the M6 was closed after an accident and they kept the Reception office open until 9 pm to assist the late arrivals who had been delayed. So thoughtful and helpful. The facilities were immaculate. The area is beautiful with many lovely places to visit, but if you want to see something fascinating take a trip to nearby Arnside, which is delightful in itself, but time it so you can see the bore coming in. The tide rushes up so fast it is mesmerising, then it swirls around and comes back on itself. You might even see the rescue teams practising near the viaduct. Romney's in Kendal is a great pub with yummy food and has a large garden. So once again thanks to all the wardens who helped us have a truly wonderful time in such a peaceful and sunny spot!
