Just a great site

First of all, we are total newbies, and told the site manager on arrival. He couldn’t have been more helpful, and gave us a map on which he’d marked available pitches that he thought we’d like. We followed his suggestion and found an ideal spot. The facilities are well maintained and spotless. Some negative reviews have mentioned traffic speeding on the roads. We saw none, and speed humps make it unlikely. Bear in mind, it’s the Lake District in the North West - so it’s likely to rain. It’s based in a forest so lots of private spots to pitch up and fascinating history about old works on the site - the ruins still visible. The approach road is slightly narrow, but there are plenty of passing bays, and the potholes mentioned elsewhere were minimal to be honest. The only issue for some people is queuing for access at 1.00 p.m. So if you don’t want to queue - arrive mid afternoon like we did. We will be back!
