stay at Minehead over Jubilee weekend.

We recently had a 4 day stay at the Minehead site. It is a super site. Always very clean .The staff are exceptional and so helpful. The site is close to many amenities and places to see. I highly recommend a stay here. We have been several times before and its been brilliant each time we have stayed.

Top site.

This site is very well located to both relax, eat out and explore Exmoor. It is complimented by the hard working, conscientious and friendly site staff. The site is well maintained and has a good atmosphere, well done to the wardens both long term and the current relief staffđź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź

Unpleasant confrontation with relief warden

I should probably preface this review by stating that the permanent site wardens, Sam and Zoe, are a really lovely couple and an absolute credit to the CMC. They were very excited to meet our 13 week old Border Collie and were keen to introduce him to their dog Mouse. Sadly (for us), halfway through our stay, Sam and Zoe embarked on a well-deserved break. They were replaced by temporary relief wardens who were parked up on the pitch immediately adjacent to ours. Literally within minutes of them assuming control, one of the relief wardens was banging on my van door to bring to my attention a stain on the grassy strip between our pitches, which he said indicated that my dog was using the area as a toilet. I explained that our dog was a baby, just 13 weeks old, and did not have sufficient bowel control to make it all the way to the dog walk area. However, we were careful to always pick up after our dog. In fact, I am pretty anal about this! He also stated that we were not allowed to place the puppy's pen on the grassy strip. I explained that we had no choice since the puppy had started swallowing the gravel on our pitch and I did not want a large vet’s bill. He insisted that things had to change, so they did – we immediately curtailed our holiday at CMC Minehead and relocated to a nearby “Friendly Club” site. In all our years of caravanning and motor-homing we have never felt so uncomfortable and been made to feel so unwelcome before. To explain our overall rating, Sam and Zoe get full marks. The relief warden gets null points on account of his lack of people skills and puppy love.

Great location

Great location for Minehead, access and road route good for larger Motorhome, We did avoid the Porlock hill, The site is Not suitable to kids, We had some very bored children that played football up and down for 5 hours in the evening 5pm to 10pm. They left the next day lucky for everyone !. Other than that a very good stay, with easy walking to shops and beach, about 15 minutes ish, No security gates on the entrance, made it fast to come and go at all hours, Will be back again, very friendly staff and very clean and tidy site.

A Great Site

Arranged a return visit to this site in March. The site team were brilliant and the site was immaculate as ever. Really conveniently located for Minehead (15 min walk to the Beach and Seafront) with plenty of dog-friendly shops, cafes and coffee bars available. A quiet location with all you need from a site, and a warm and generous welcome too! Will definitely be returning again, sometime soon.

pleasantly surprised

its been over 25 years since we visited Minehead, & I cant recall much of it other than Butlins where we were staying for a comedy weekend so it was with some reserve that I booked it, and Im glad I did. The site has direct access from the A39 and is situated just outside the town. There is a small run of shops 5 mins walk for all of your top up groceries/papers/take away needs, and supermarkets a further 5 min walk on. The seafront (Butlins end) is about a 15-20 min walk, but the much nicer end of town with the harbour and town centre shops & cafes is 20 mins in the other direction. The Ship Aground pub on the harbour allows dogs inside, nice green area behind for dog exercise which then leads steeply uphill along the coast path. A flatter walk is past Butlins and skirts the golf course. A back road walk to Dunster is undulating and takes about 40 mins. The site itself is fairly linear with cul de sacs so the MO is to book in at reception, park up, walk to pick a pitch and let reception know as they hand you a site map with the available pitches so dont have to wander all over. small amenities block, clean but a bit dated compared to other club sites, great off lead dog walk, wood shavings underfoot & log piles. A bit of road hum, and could hear some Butlins music but not obtrusive. The site managers Zoe & Sam were friendly, cheery & helpful, a credit to the Club. We would return

Great site, very helpful staff

We have just returned from a very relaxing stay. This is a well laid out site, the facilities are spotless, the pitches are of a good size and generally flat. Site is well kept by the staff, who are very approachable and friendly. On arrival we had a problem with power hook up. Zoe, came to our aide and put a lot of energy into helping to sort out our problem, which , turned out to be our hook up cable. A very big thankyou to Zoe Will certainly visit again

A very good Club Site

We visited on a damp weekend in February and the lovely clean and well appointed shower facilities were very welcome. A surprisingly peaceful site but very well located for local walks (Dunster Castle 2m uphill but nothing too onerous) and the beach (15-20m stroll). Shops, take aways and restaurants all within easy walking distance. We had peg 27 which was only just big enough for our 8m motorhome and didn't allow us room to use our levellers but we only booked the week before so were happy to get in! It was our first visit to a Club Site and it far exceeded our expectations (we prefer the CL sized facilities) The site directions say to use Junction 24 but visiting from the north Junction 23 was a lot quieter (we arrived via J24 and queued into, through and out of Bridgwater, whereas leaving via J23 was a breeze).

Handy location

A small, exceptionally clean and organised dog friendly site on the fringe of Minehead. A 20 mins stroll through the suburbs brings you to the beach front and even less if you want the main parade with all the usual shops and eateries that a small town can offer. Plenty of dog friendly pubs too and take aways within walking distance. So if in a Motorhome without separate transport this can still be a nice stop for a few days with a coastal walk both hilly and flat depending on direction taken. Would highly recommend for a few days or longer if you have a car to get out and about. Generally the coast is rugged and not the areas best attraction if a sandy sunny beach stay is wanted…at least not in winter. On the whole it is good to have this site so close to civilisation and on a year round basis too. Well done.
