Club Wardens went WAY beyond what was expected of them…….

The day following my previous review I became very unwell and my wife sought help and advice from the site Wardens. After learning of my problems Mandy (previously medically qualified) advised my wife to call the emergency services which she did. Both Mandy and colleague warden Elaine (also previously medically qualified) attended us in our caravan and monitored my well-being until the paramedics arrived which was over three hours later. Their commitment to us both was very much appreciated by us which we considered went way beyond their ‘call of duty’. The Paramedics decided I was taken to Truro Hospital where I remained under close observation all day and was finally discharged at mid-night for return to our caravan. We couldn’t have wished for better support and empathy than we received from both Mandy and Elaine and the simple moral being if you are ever unfortunate enough to receive medical help and attention whilst at Trewethett we couldn’t have been in a better place. Thank you so much for all the help and support they gave us throughout this whole ordeal.

Location does not come better than this site……..

We have been coming to this site for over forty years and we never get tired of coming. The location is simply stunning and as it is west facing the sunsets over the Atlantic are a real treat. The front row pitches are the most favourable and as these become available you have to be prepared to do the ‘Trewethett shuffle’ and move your outfit, but well worth the effort. The Wardens have developed a fair system which allows you to move to a more favourable location as these pitches become available. The coastal walking from the site is arduous to Tintagel and Boscastle but is very scenic and well worth the effort. This is certainly one of our most favourable destinations on the network, so please keep this a secret! 🤣🤣 as we don’t want to advertise it too widely.

Wonderful Campsite

There is not more to add to all the previous raving reviews. We have just been for the 4th time and this year ALL the wardens were lovely. Extremely friendly and very helpful. Can’t wait to come back. It really is my favourite place. Beautiful coastal walks. Great workout. Thanks again to the hardworking wardens.

Wonderful place

We spent two weeks here, it was that good that we extended our stay, I agree with all the good points mentioned by others and cannot think of any improvement that is needed... except we were surprised at the large amount of dogs on site.

Just love it here.

Our 3rd visit over the years, and will be back. Wardens very friendly, and keep the site and facilities immaculate. There are toilets and showers in a Portacabin, as well as the main service block, which is kept spotless, but it is a Portacabin! Well stocked shop with most items, including cream scones! The views, from a lot of pitches are lovely. The walks to either Tintagel or Boscastle if you can cope with ups and downs, and plenty of steps are worth doing on the coastal path which is adjacent to site. Rocky Valley and Bosiney Cove worth a visit, although Bosiney closed at the moment due to landslide. We visited the lovely village of Port Quin, adjacent to the famous Port Issac which was lovely. Black Rock Beach and Widemouth Bay are lovely large sandy beaches. But lots to see and do around and about. Sunsets to die for. It’s been very windy while we have been here, didn’t use our awning, the wardens post the wind speed and advice whether to use awnings, a lot were struggling in the wind. £229.20 for seven nights(not complaining!)for two adults, I suppose it’s a premium site due to location.

Lovely cliff top site

This was our second visit to this site, we stayed 5 nights in the second week of May. We had a problem with our motorhome engine battery and the staff were very helpful when I needed to borrow jump leads etc, so thank you again for that. There are some lovely cliff walks from site, to Boscastle and beyond or to Tintagel. The walk from Tintagel to Trebarwith Beach is fantastic on a sunny day. We will be back!

Best site yet

We are new to the club this year and this is the best site we have stayed on to date. The views are worth a visit alone. Add on the lovely shop, friendly and polite wardens, and excellent facilities that were always clean - then you have a winning formula. We walked the coast path two days running, once into Boscastle, the other into Tintagel, and got the bus back and both times the drivers were happy to drop us right at the top of the drive. Don't miss a walk along Rocky Valley from the site, down to the old watermill and look for the Bronze Age rock art. Amazing and atmospheric spot not to miss. I loved waking up the sea view and watching the sun set over the horizon in the evening. We will definitely be back.

Go for the views

We stayed in March and deliberately chose a pitch up the hill with a view of the sea, although it was a bit of a walk to the main facilities block so we mainly used our own toilet and shower. Our pitch was also beyond the site lighting so we had, in effect, a 'dark skies' pitch and clear nights for star watching. Fortunately we also had a torch. In the evenings we had uninterrupted views of spectacular sunsets and mornings we could hear the larks singing in the field behind. The South West Coast Path was quite challenging, plenty of ascents and descents. In good weather it was a great place to be. Not so sure what it would be like in a westerly gale.
