Good for families

The best location but some downsides compared to last year.

There is no doubt that this is one of the best CAMC sites we have been to, we were repeat visitors and have looked at other sites nearby and this is a stunning place. It’s kept really nice and clean and the main toilets and showers are always kept to a really good standard. The walks and views around the site are stunning, and Bossiney Cove is well worth a visit, from half way down the tide to half way up. Beware if the wind picks up then there is zero shelter from it so awnings and tents can take a battering. Compared to last year the only down side was that a couple of the members of staff were very un child friendly. CAMC sites are usually great for kids but we didn’t experience that this time. My son told us that one particular warden had told him and his new holiday friend that they were nasty little buggers… he”s 9, and I’ve never heard him use those words before. The rest of the staff were great but as is often the case it only takes a couple of bad eggs to spoil it. Also the shop has gone so no basic supplies or a bag of sweets as a treat for the kids are available. It’s a very quiet site in terms of noise which is both good and bad. Also I thought it was a bit poor show that during the two storms that we experienced we didn’t see the wardens going out to check everyone was ok. One poor family had had their tent flattened by the wind and were trying to dry themself off with the hair dryers in the toilets. Not a warden to be seen. On a more positive note it’s a fantastic base for exploring Cornwall. There is a great wealth of information of places to go and things to do in the information room on site. We will go back and just hope certain members of staff have moved on as it is a stunning place to be.
