Not so tranquil

Stayed here based on other reviews saying how quiet it would be. First night of arrival after long drive, the evening entertainment started at 7 pm. You didn't need to go to the bar as the live band could be heard all over the campsite, in fact they could probably be heard over most of Brittany! For the 20 or so people that were at the bar I'm sure it was a fantastic evening after a few beers (and they had a few!). After a solid 3 hours of high decibel music - the band called it a night - we'd heard every single song from the 80's by then, and just before they moved on Elvis numbers - the well intoxicated faithful crowd of 20 sang on their own for a bit (without the benefit of the PA equipment). To be fair the band wasn't that bad, but the fact that the other 100+ other guests on the campsite had no choice in whether or not they wanted to listen - was for me a poor management decision. If you had young kids trying to sleep after a long day or wanted to enjoy a quiet glass of wine on your pitch - there was no option but to endure the 'entertainment'. Maybe 2 hours I could have tolerated, or adjusting the volume to suit the small audience in front of you - but I didn't really sign up and pay for a pitch with high volume entertainment included for 3 hours until 10 pm. Am I getting old, maybe. But then again if I wanted this kind of campsite I'd go to Butlins for my holidays. Spoke nicely to management who were polite and explained this was just one night a week. But for me when a campsite publishes its rules and expectations of guests to be quiet and respect other users - they should hold themselves to the same standards. The volume of music and 3 hours worth of it - didn't seem warranted to me. Apart from this - and genuinely - it is a really nice campsite with good pitches and facilities. Just a shame you'd risk annoying a majority of your guests for a small minority group of guests.

We’ve been here for 3 nights and the site has been very quiet both day and night. We weren’t aware that there was a band playing on site and certainly didn’t hear any loud music at all.
The facilities are what you would expect from a 3 star site, basic but clean. The site managers have been very polite and helpful, including when we tripped the electricity pole on our first night having overloaded the electrics!                          Despite the continual rain, we have enjoyed our stay, close to the picturesque village of Rochefort en Terre.
