EXCELLENT STOPOVER AND FOR LYONS

The location is very convenient for a stopover on the way to & from the Med, very close to the Autoroute if the approach is a little trickey.  It is also an excellent centre for exploring Lyons with convenient bus/ metro links.  The sites themselves are somewhat basic and can be muddy in wet conditions.  The staff are helpful but do not appear to match sites to caravan / motorhome size.

Stop-over

We used this site as a stop-over on the way to the South of France. The site was very busy when we arrived and caravan/motor homes were leaving very early the next day which could disturb your sleep. Some motorway noise could be heard. The shower cubicles were a little on the small side but the water was hot and plentiful. The bar and restaurant area looked excellent. Good links into the city of Lyon which was just outside the site. Auchan hypermarket (plus fuel) was a short walk away plus a couple of restaurants. On the way back from our holiday we were able to choose a better pitch as it was not so busy. Some pitches are grassy others hard standing. The area immediately outside the site was not too appealing but we felt safe. Lyon looks a great place to visit and we would use this site again but just choose our pitch carefully.

Good overnight stopover

We stayed for two single nights on the way down through France and on return..good location and easy to find. Staff very helpful and friendly, but backed up units when busy can be fun! Pitches are on the small side, a bit scruffy compared to other sites we have used, and few people seemed to go to allocated pitch, so it ended up a bit of a free-for-all. Curb has to be mounted to access some, which was annoying. There is significant motorway noise on some pitches. Adjacent Ibis restaurant (not at all UK Ibis like!) did superb food, and gave 10% discount for users of the site. A good site for overnight or short break, but not one for a long stay in my view.

City Visit

We stopped here for 3 nights to visit the city of Lyon. Our big mistake was arriving there during the European football tournament. We found the reception staff friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and modern and well maintained. The site however was scruffy and lots of litter about but the main problem is that the pitches have no identifying numbers apart from the row letters. Buses to the metro to get into the city are just outside the site and there is a supermarket 10 minutes walk fr the site. If you are prepared to stay on a scruffy site it's worth a visit.

Visit to Lyon in June 2016

A good location to visit the city of Lyon, by bus & metro. Reception very helpful. Facilities good & clean. Plenty of choice of pitch.

Oh Boy!

Stopped going south (May) and on return (June). Pitches were strewn with litter including broken glass. Getting to electricity and water required going through hedge. Chaotic check in on return journey. In May showers were cold and not as clean as in other sites. In June a second toilet block was open and showers were hot there. Will certainly not be going there again despite its location so close to the AutoRoute.

Response from the Caravan Club:

Thank you for sharing your feedback with the Club.  We are disappointed that you encountered so many issues on this site.  The site have been made aware of these problems and are keen to solve these inconveniences.

Response from Indigo Lyon:

Dear guest,

We regret that you did not enjoy your stay at Indigo Lyon campsite.

Many football fans stayed on the site in June and our teams did their best to welcome every customer in normal conditions.

Be sure that the problem is now solved in the sanitary block opened in May, as we have taken your remarks into account.

Best regards,

muttandjeff

Would not come back

Having caravanned a lot in France I can confidently say that this has been my grimmest stopover site ever. It was not helped by the weather, but it reminded me of a motorway Aire (but not as nice as most).  The pitches weren't attractive, the loos were fine, but the campsite itself totally lacked charm.  There's a lovely site just south of Vienne that we have now found and we'll stay there en route to the Med in future.  This does not remotely compare to a CC site in the UK and is poor reflection of the wonderful sites available in France.

Response from the Caravan Club:

Thank you for sharing your feedback online.  Due to its location this site is used by many members as a convenient stop-over en route to the Meditteranean.  We are sorry that you feel that this site is lacking in charm.  We have had the following reply from the site regarding your comments.

 Response from Indigo Lyon:

Dear customer,

We are really sorry to read that your stay at Indigo Lyon did not meet your expectations, even if you appreciated the sanitary blocks.

It is true that this campsite is located near to the motor way, which is also a good point when you need to stop for a night.

Regards,

Towing Teccos

Good be much better

The site could have been much better. Perhaps the weather didn't help but the pitches were in poor condition some were small some poor shape overall not what we would have expected from a caravan club recommended site.

Response from the Caravan Club:

Thank you for leaving your review online.  At the Club we do our utmost to work with the best sites possible as we really want to you to have positive experiences whilst abroad.  We are disappointed to hear that this site did not live up to your expectations.  We have received the following response from the site concerning your comments.

Response from Indigo Lyon:

Dear guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share your comment with us.

Please be sure that we take your remarks into account for the future campsite renovation.

We are sorry if the pitches were damaged, it is true that the weather was very bad for the last few weeks in France.

Hoping we will have the pleasure to welcome you again for a future stay in better conditions.

Best regards,

Good Overnighter

One night stop at the end of Feb 2016 en route to Spain. Easy to find, prompt and pleasant check in but getting water was a bit of a pain (sorted finally) as most client were Motorhomes. The washrooms were super warm. Site very wooded, in summer would I imagine be very dark but overall a more than acceptable site and we would return
