Firbank cl

This is a very spacious site in a beautiful location with friendly and helpful owners. The site is very well maintained and surrounded by mature woodland. Although adjacent to the South Deeside road, there is virtually no traffic noise. Would highly recommend this site.

Lovely Certified Location

Great site for cycling , walking and wild swimming. The Deeside Way passes close bye and Glen Tanar is a couple of miles away over the hill. The river Dee is very close and has good access for swimming or canoeing. Archie and Justine were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful.

Lovely gem of a site.

Spent 5 nights with our Motorhome, at this lovely peaceful quiet site. The owner Justine was charming and very attentive and helpful. The site is a huge open grass field with hard standing pitches, ours was completely level - the first time we haven’t needed to use the ramps. The pitches have masses of space between them which is what we like, it makes the stay so much more enjoyable. Individual water tap next to every pitch is a bonus too. We were slightly concerned about driving on grass ( as it can be a problem for larger motorhomes in the wet) but the ground is very firm, level and well drained, so no problem there. There is a minor road adjacent with only sporadic traffic during the day, and completely quiet at night. We used this as a base for our cycling, which enabled us to use the Deeside way both directions which is very close to the site. There are also many other small side roads to make up other routes. Also MTB trails and walking tracks in the area as well. The area has an abundance of eateries, the ones we sampled were all very good - The Boat Inn Aboyne, Finzean Farm Shop Cafe, and the Highland Bakery along from Crathie Kirk. Some good looking shops in both Ballater and Aboyne. All in all a great wee site, hope to visit again sometime in the future.

A great find in a super location

We have stayed at this recently opened site twice already! We loved everything about it from the warm welcoming owners to the wide choice of walks right from the site. Plenty of space and flat pitches. We look forward to future return visits, and wish Justine and Archie well on their new venture.

Perfect

What a find, peaceful quiet site with huge space between other units, swimming in the river Dee across from the entrance from the site, hosts were welcoming and wanted us to get the most out of our stay, plenty of walks on the doorstep, loved every moment, will definitely return... You have done a great job Alan and Jude

Fantastic CL

Firbank Cl only opened last week and it was a real treat to be among the first to stay on this fantastic site. The Cl is surrounded by mature woodlands which back onto the Glen Tanar estate with miles of picturesque tracks, paths and walks. Also a cycle path which runs between Aboyne and Ballater, both only 5-10 mins by car. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights there. The site owners Justine and Archie made us very welcome, they are lovely, friendly and very helpful. They are clearly passionate about their new venture, keen to make the site as good as it can possibly be for their guests. We will definitely be back soon as this is one of the best CL’s we’ve stayed at, and they’ve only just started …

Great new site

I stayed for just one night at this lovely brand new CL but luckily arrived early enough to be able to take advantage of the fantastic walks right on the doorstep. Behind the site is a lovely oak woodland, full of birdsong and from there, the trails join a wider track towards Glen Tanar. On the other side of the site, across the quiet South Deeside Road, is the River Dee with footpaths and the occasional bench along the riverside from where I enjoyed watching the fish jumping for insects in the approaching dusk. Apart from the wonderful, peaceful location, the site is the best CL I've stayed at. The pitches are huge and level with electric and water at each and the site is surrounded by ancient woodlands including Douglas Firs on one side that the owners were busy adding to when I arrived - they are clearly in it for the long haul. They could not have been more welcoming, and their enthusiasm for this new venture was plain to see. They made sure that I had everything I needed and described various local walks for me with my dogs. This is a great stopover or base from which to explore Deeside and I will definitely be back.

A CL not to be missed

Just had a wonderful stay at the newly opened Firbank Park. The peace and tranquility at this CL in a stunning setting made for a fantastic time. The owners, Justin & Archie are brilliant and made us feel so welcome. It's a perfect location for relaxing walking with the dog or cycling with lots of tremendous paths close by. We'll definitely be back!
