Stopped here for 3 nights recently. Ideal location. Enjoyed watching the sun rise and set over the Loch.Great for exploring the area, Ben Nevis and Glen Nevis which has some great waterfalls and a walk which is difficult but well worth the effort.
Also visited Neptune's staircase a series of locks - great
This is a beautiful site in an outstanding location with terrific views. The wardens are very friendly and keep the the site in good order. On my recent stay I saw at least 2 units arriving in the early evening, so they were not late arrivals although they pitched up at the late arrivals area. As I suspected the next morning I saw one man leave his unit with his ramps in hand and lay them down on a site at the loch side which someone had vacated. This was well before the arrival time of 1200hrs, which members are told to observe. There are a couple of things here, firstly these people should not be parked up in the late arrival area in case there is a genuine late arrival who cannot get into the site. They are in fact using it as an early arrival area so they can get the best pitches next day and depriving people who abide by the rules of getting a nice pitch by the waterside as these people have grabbed these sites as they are vacated and presumably go to the office at 12 to book the pitch they have already grabbed. This puts those who arrive an hour or so before the stated arrival time in the shade
This site is immaculate, well run and in a fantastic location. On route we had a call from the lady who was booking us in to check we were OK and that we would be arriving. When we arrived although the office was just closed the lady opened up and what a welcome, so friendly and informative.
The facilities are excellent and well looked after. The dogs had a great time swimming in the loch, and the site is so well located for visiting other places of interest. We will certainly be back to this site, and would recommend anyone to visit, although if you are visiting between May & end Sept come prepared with regards to midges.
We had a lovely time here - beautiful area, great scenery, fantastic sunsets over the Loch. A drive takes you to Fort William and Glenfinnan area in one direction and Oban in the other.
The location of this site is picture perfect. Nothing nicer than waking up to those views every morning especially when we had such amazing weather for the whole 6 day stay. Wardens were really good and the site is so clean and tidy, no easy thing when it was so busy the whole time. So much to see and do around this area. Took the train from Fort William to Mallaig and the scenery is spectacular. Well worth doing and just as good on the regular train as on the much more expensive steam train. Lovely walks straight from the site to Inchree Falls and woodland and some wonderful views. Spent our last day driving down to Oban and finished up with dinner on the terrace of the Pierhouse Restaurant at Port Appin. Another wonderful view and superb fresh local seafood. Didn't want to leave.
The location makes this site, have been several times to bunree and would probably visit again because of the location , we were lucky enough to have a loch side pitch away from the dog walk ( or so we thought!) I feel the club needs to take at look at the comment book and look into the amount of complaints regarding people not only not using the dog walk but people allowing there dogs to foul anywhere especially the grass front along the loch side then thinking because it's picked up it makes it ok, very few people seem to be able to read the dog walking area signs , complaints were made to the wardens which were pointless , and was told we should tell the culprits ourselves this was unacceptable which I personally thought wasn't our place to do so, so sat in our van watching the sun set or eating our meals was on a daily basis spoilt by also seeing every make of dog foul in front of our caravan.
Please caravan club look into this because I strongly feel this situation is bad enough to really spoil what has to be one of the most stunning locations the club has to offer .
Great 5days stay last visited 10 years ago, enjoyed it then and now, thanks to the wardens, as they went out of there way to locate my lost keys, that I collected 4days later well pleased with the site and wardens.
We arrived at short notice, having tried to phone up beforehand. The reception was very friendly and helpful and managed to squeeze us in on the last pitch as they had had a no show. Although it was up in the shade we were grateful for the pitch and found the site to be in a great location with very clean and welcome shower blocks. There is a dog walk on the beach at the front, although not great as very pebbly and small but nevertheless very handy. The views overlooking the loch are stunning and it is placed in a great location for visiting Fort William and the surrounding areas.
2015 is the first year we have been members of this club. We called in without booking. The reception received was cool. Turning up without booking is obviously frowned upon. We did offer to leave but were told "we may be able to fit you in somewhere" as if that would be an inconvenience. The facilities were as expected, the views spectacular. Noise from 6 a.m. was intrusive, machinery users and dog walkers being the main culprits.
This site is well worth the drive from Yorkshire. My two teenage granddaughters really liked the views on this site, heads up from phones is a plus. Will be returning to this beautiful clean place
