Beautiful Site

30 Slate Drift is accessed down a slightly uneven lane, through double gates and a narrow track. Once on the site it opens up to a level, well kept grassed area. Pitches are not allocated so we could choose our spot. Roger was on hand straight away to explain the basic site facilities and some of the local delights to be enjoyed, including a wonderful circular route across fields and via the village pub. The site is very peaceful with great views over the surrounding countryside. Rutland water and other tourist areas are a short drive away, as is Stamford, with a decent variety of shops. Roger was very friendly made us feel so welcome. We will be back!

A Gem

A secure CL with an easy approach via double gates - you wouldn't know it was there! The site is level and well-drained, in an elevated location looking over the countryside. Plenty of room and just a short hop from the A1, Stamford, Rutland Water, etc. Slate Drift is a short road/track off the A43 and can be easily missed if you have traffic behind you. I suggest you locate it on Streetmap or Google Earth first just to get your bearings. From Stamford it is on the right as you enter the 30mph limit. We wish we could have stayed longer.

A Lovely CL

This is a lovely hidden away CL. Well kept grassed area, all on the level and in spite of recent wet weather it drains well with no evidence of mud. The owner, Roger, was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Difficult to add anymore to what has been said in other reviews. Loads of public footpaths for walking and the lanes provide for plenty of almost traffic free cycling. A recommended CL.

A Fantastic CL

This is a first class site. Plenty of room on well kept grass with beautiful views. Quiet with just the sounds of nature - we saw deer, red Kites and heard lots of bird songs. The owner, Roger, is extremely friendly and helpful. Handy for Burghley, Stamford and Rutland water. Good pub nearby. All in all a fantastic site - we will definitely return!

Our second visit, we had forgotten how much we enjoy it.

We stayed here in April this year and had super weather , so were able to sit out and enjoy the views,  slight irritation of small aircraft  at times but other wise so peaceful. Plenty of lovely villages  and small towns to explore  and plenty of walks in the woods. Enjoyed the Ospreys nesting on Rutland water.

Peaceful site

Lovely site , well maintained pitches. Easy access from the A1. The approach through the owners property is a bit overgrown but like previous reviews when you get past the trees the site is beautiful, lovely views and very very peacful. Would definitely use again.

Commendable CL

The untidiness of the approach ( mainly due to trees etc ) belies a beautifully kept area for the pitches - mown better than my grass at home !Owner very helpful and accommodating. Recommended !

Definately stay again

We stayed on the site for 3 nights and were completely satisfied. The entrance does look a bit overgrown and narrow because of the amount of trees, but don't be put off. It soon opens up into an open field, very well kept with short grass and no clippings and with ample space to park wherever you pleased. We chose a corner screened by trees and parked the van so we had our own private garden so to speak. The owner was very helpful and friendly without being overbearing.
