Kia Ora!

We are Marcus and Hayley and we are currently part of the Caravan Club's inaugural New Zealand Explorer Motorhome Tour of the North and South Islands. We will be sharing our experience over the next month.

On arrival in Singapore we met our fellow Caravan Club travellers and we were transferred to our hotel for a couple of days of jet-lag recovery and city sightseeing.

Amongst the top sights, our group city coach tour included the Orchid Garden in the Botanical Gardens and we loved it so much that we opted to return there on our free day. It was an easy trip on the bus that passed our hotel and some friendly locals ensured that we got off at the correct stop.

Singapore is a very interesting mix of modern skyscraper architecture and green parkland. Some of the tall buildings even had green walls of vertical gardens that were thriving in the heat and humidity.

Right outside our hotel was the Singapore River which made for a pleasant walk down to the port past lively bars and restaurants, just in time for the free nightly Marina Bay Sands light show.

Our brief stay whet our appetites and it is certainly somewhere that we would like to return.
