Good for access to Bournemouth

Excellent base to tour Bournemouth a d surrounding area. Good cycle routes in to Bournemouth, Boscombe and Poole harbour. Peaceful site, just a few flights leaving adjacent Bournemouth airport each day so nothing disruptive. Owners couldn't be more friendly and helpful.

I had a most enjoyable stay here .

I stayed here for 2 nights 25th and 26th March 2022. I used it as a base whilst visiting my son in Bournemouth. It is close to the town an cost about 10 pounds to get taxi home from the town center. Site is basically a big open field with electric points. Lovely peaceful place, just a bit of aircraft noise in the day but nothing bad. The owner was really nice and welcoming. No toilets or showers but to be expected at the low prices. I really enjoyed my stay.

Excellent site for Bournemouth and surrounding area

Stayed for 9 nights in August'21, this site is located in a field behind the owners house, surrounded by farm land and lovely properties. There is a bus stop within 10mins walk but the times were very limited so we hired a car. There is a retail outlet within a 10min drive and plenty of supermarkets in the area. Depending on traffic, it took us 20 minutes to drive into Bournemouth or Poole or Christchurch. The site has room for about 8 vans with electric hook up. There's a fresh water and grey waste tap and bourne. Pitches are large. It is peaceful at night but there is noise from the airport during the day but not to the extent that it would spoil your stay. My only criticism was the grass was a little bit longer than normal and we unknowingly stepped in dog mess on the way back from the bins area located near the taps. However, we appreciate that this is the dog owners fault for not clearing up rather than the owner for not cutting the grass (and ours for not seeing it). Simple solution would be to do what the neighbouring site has done and ban dogs, but that's only my personal view. I would recommend this site and if you have your own transport, it's ideal. if you leave your camper van or motorhome on site, I feel you'd need a bike or some form of transport. Search motorhome kid on youtube for images.

Great CL for time at the seaside

Very warm welcome from both the site owner and other regulars who come back year after year. We stayed for 2 nights and were happy with everything- lovely big flat field, waste disposal, water, rubbish bins and being left to just get on with relaxing and enjoying the outside life. We would certainly return.

A quiet and basic CL

We stayed here because it was quite close to Bournemouth. It is sited in the suburbs of the city and so was quite convenient. The field behind the owners bungalow is huge, but only part of it was used as a CL. The grass was cut and the ground was firm and level. It has the potential to be much better. There were also 3 additional outfits on site which appeared to be long term storage. A good site for an over night stop, but I would not recommend it as a holiday setting.

A few minor issues to deal with and this would be a good site

It is difficult to find but if the CL sign was at the roadside and not half way down the drive, it would make it easier.  Pleasant lady made us welcome but the drive is very potholed and needs some infill.  The field is spacious and firm, but the grass was long and had obviously been cut previously when it was long so the dead grass was prevalent.  The tube from the water tap was full of algae and I wouldn't want to drink water which had come through it.  Not a lot to make this a good site, as it is very convenient, owner very pleasant, and we would like to return.

A nice basic quiet CL

We stayed on this site for 4 nights at the beginning of May. A nice grassy field laid back from the road and behind the owner's bungalow. The entrance is not obvious from the road, which makes initial arrival a bit confusing but is good from a security point of view. We missed the entrance the first time - it is closer to the end of the island than we expected. It is not gated. The transition from the entrace road to the field was a bit rutted and muddy - it had been raining a lot in the previous few days - but the field itself was firm. There are no views from the site but it is nicely on the northern edge of Bournemouth. It is close to Hurn airport which made for occasional but not obtrusive, aircraft noise. The owner is a friendly helpful lady who spotted we had initially missed the entrance before we got too far. Electric hookups are spaced out well and you can park anywhere. There is a single point for rubbish and sewage disposal and water. Altogether a nice basic quiet CL.

A good basic site

A good basic site set back from the road next to a small copse. Basically a large field. It's a bit tricky phoning the owner and finding the site but they make you feel welcome and let you choose where you want to park. There is electric hook up for about 6 caravans only although the field could hold more. Waste water and sewage is basically a raised manhole cover but isn't very smelly. There's 2 taps. one for drinking and one for rinsing your waste, toilet etc. Refuse is 3 bins ane for recycling. Hurn airport is about 4 miles away and you can hear the planes but that doesn't detract too much from the overall peacefulness. Well situated with a bus stop 3 minutes walk away. I'd recommend it if you don't like large sites with lots of people coming and going. The people who pitch here seem friendly :-)
