Perfect CL for us

What a lovely and peaceful CL. Easy to find from the directions provided. Upon arrival, as anyone should do out of courtesy when arriving at a CL, we called at the site owners' bungalow to check which pitches were best for our motorhome. Michael was very welcoming and amenable and we walked up to the site with him. We had no issue in siting our motorhome on one of the 2 x hardstanding pitches. The water tap and electric hook up were next to our pitch so it was easy to keep our tank topped up. The site is well maintained; bins were kept emptied etc. Bempton village, pub and railway stop are very close and within a 5-minute walk. Regular trains are very handy for visiting local seaside towns. Bempton Cliffs RSPB is a nice walk away with stunning cliffs and seabird life attractions. Would highly recommend this CL for a peaceful and relaxing stay, with very friendly and helpful owner. Also good value at £20 per night inc. EHU.

Unsuitable for Caravans in Wet Conditions

In March in wet conditions we arrived to find that the two hardstanding pitches were signposted as ‘Motorhomes Only’. On driving towards the grass pitches the caravan sank immediately in deep mud. We have a four-wheel drive car. Despite the efforts of the owner’s tractor to tow the caravan off, we had to eventually be rescued by Mayday using a winch. The hardstanding pitches comprise of two strips of flagstones and two strips of hardcore at the entrance to the field. The track to the site is far from the ‘tarmac’ entrance described on the website. The owner assured us that the site was firm the day before when he cut the grass. In any case I do not understand why this site is open all year. We moved on to Bridlington Club Site from where we enjoyed the many attractions the area has to offer.

Lovely site

The site is peaceful and owners are great. We have stayed here many times. It is a 5 minute drive to the RSPB site at Bempton cliffs. The local pub is a short walk into the village and they serve great food. There is access to many towns on the east coast by train which stops in Bempton. We will be visiting again in the near future

Branwood - Bempton

We stayed at the site for 7 nights from 3 - 10 July and had a really lovely stay. The owners were very welcoming upon arrival and also ensured that they wished those leaving following their stay a safe journey, we thought that was a lovely touch. The site is well kept, the grass is mown and although not level pitches we found it no issue as levellers were provided to cope with any incline, we also had plenty of room each side of the caravan even with a large awning. Seems that once found many people return again and again and we are not at all surprised. Lots to do and lots to see in the surrounding areas, there is a local train and yes you can hear it if you listen for it but we didn't find it intrusive at all. Paddock on the side of the site with a lovely horse again no noise from him you wouldn't have known he was there if we hadn't seen him. Basic facilities but you are made aware about them when booking, no issues for us we have stayed at other CLs that have far worse. Looking forward to booking again at some point.

Lovely peaceful site

We stayed here for 3 nights in May. There is a dedicated motor home pitch with just the right slope for our van, so no need for levellers. Handy if you drive out during the day. The sight is very quiet, you don’t notice the trains after a couple. The station is less than 5 minutes away. We did Scarborough one day, if there’s two of you get the “duo” return. The owner is very friendly. Bempton RSPB is about a mile and a half. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great Site

Great site for the 2 nights we needed while at Bempton RSPB. Site is well maintained, We had no need to use hook-up, water or disposal - so please see other reviews. Train noise was minimal, and the walk into Bempton short. If you are planning on visiting the pub in Bempton be sure to book. We will be returning to this site when next in the area.

Well kept site.

I have read the reviews, slightly sloping but no big deal, on first step of leveller, kindly provided by the owner. Trains not a problem as they stop at 22.00. Nice couple who own the site stop for a chat but generally leave you in peace. No facilities but thats what you are told on the description. We will be returning, says it all.

Lovely little site

The site is very well cared for, and we had a good welcome. It's a rather small field for the caravans, and quite sloping in parts, but there's plenty of open countryside around and good views from the site. Mostly quiet, we did hear the nearby trains but didn't find them intrusive - the level crossing alarm was more noticeable than the actual trains. Easy road access to Bempton Cliffs (RSPB), Flamborough Head and Bridlington beach, and very close to railway station with services to Bridlington, Hull and Scarborough. Agree with cloudman that the toilet emptying point isn't great, although we've used worse. But overall, a very good little site.

Handy to visit Benton Cliffs & Village

Nice little site within walking distance of the village of Benton, classic village with church, duck pond on the green and a great pub that with good food. The Railway Station is next to the site so access to the area without using the car is very handy, it runs from Hull to Scarborough on a single track line. The nearest site to Benton Cliffs so if bird watching is your thing this is perfect. The rail track is in a deep cutting so the trains don't disturb you on site, I like a quite site and didn't find the trains a problem. The site is elevated so you get a pleasant outlook and the couple running the site do their best to be helpful, including supplying timber block to help level up. The only downside is that the toilet emptying point is a bit grim, it does the job but needs an update. On the other hand the grey water runs into the hedge so no waste tank to empty.

A little Gem of a site

From the minute we arrived on this site we felt welcome and relaxed. Micheal came to help site us and show us the amenities which were clean, tidy and well signposted. This well kept site had lovely views over countryside and although positioned near a railway line was tranquil. The walk into the village of Bempton itself was easy and resulted in us finding a lovely little church which at the time we visited was holding an flower festival plus afternoon teas in the village hall, needless to say we participated in tea and cake. This site is within easy distance of Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough, Flamborough etc and offered us the perfect base to explore. A true Gem of a site, can't wait to revisit. Thank you Shirley and Micheal for your hospitality. x
