Excellent CL

We only spent one night, but really liked this CL and when we are in the area again we would book for longer. Very peaceful site, with plenty of room for five units. Electric has good voltage and the water pressure is very good too. Convenient to Sherborne, where there is lots to see and do.

Two enjoyable weeks

We had a great fortnight here, very wet when we arrived for a couple of days so crossing the farm track was a challenge, but it dried eventually. We parked at the top of the field so blocks needed but there are pitches at the bottom which are flatter. Busy working farm but the owners always available for a chat. Only two things we didn't like. The Elsan disposal is simply not deep enough, so 'evidence' always on view. Secondly the mobile signal was poor so wi-fi data often unobtainable, not the fault of the owners of course. Plenty of delightful towns and villages within a 25 mile radius, and the gardens of Sherborne 'new' castle are a must-see.

Very nice farm site

Nice farm setting, paddock is lawned and part sloping but tall hedges to shield from farm activity. Some minor road, train and animal noise but not bad. Owners welcoming and friendly and have us info on walks. 2 mile walk to Sherborne town across country with castle, Abbey and shops there. Pub and coop in other direction. All walks involve some hills! Black waste and water services basic but nicely shielded by planting Only quibble was bins full and not emptied regularly but they are very busy working farm. Overall very nice stay

Cracking Value CL

Stayed two nights in motorhome, paddock is nice, well cut but slightly sloping so levelling blocks a good idea. Scenery is splendid and site is close to many places of interest. Generally peaceful and quiet only broken by the occasional cow or tractor. Some faint road noise during the day and a railway line is 1/4 mile away so occasional sound of passing trains but nothing to spoil the general tranquility of this rural venue. For a charge of £10 you get a nicely spaced pitch with EHU, water tap, grey water disposal point that you can drive your motorhome up to and Elsan emptying point. These facilities are without frills but very functional and for £10 per night its cracking value. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

Nice small well kept CL

Well situated just outside Sherbourne and far enough away from the main road in noise terms although the railway was audible but not a problem. A very slightly sloping site with good well kept grass the water and chemical disposal points within a small hedged block just near the access gate. Plenty of space with the electric points well positioned around the completely hedged site. Very helpful and obliging owners. Excellent value at £10.

Proper little CL

Some slightly sloping pitches. Good recycling facilities. This is a busy working farm so there is farm noise and some white noise from the main road. Neither bothered us. CDP doesn’t leave much to the imagination. Very handy for Sherborne. TV reception OK, 3G OK on Three but nothing on O2. We were alone for most of our stay which was surprising considering it was school holidays. Well priced at £10. Your mission, should you care to accept it, is to find the fresh water tap! Would stay again.

real farm site

This is a real farm site on a serious dairy farm. The farm has a good road off the main road and then a hard track through yard to the site field. The site field is close to the milking parlor and the main buildings of the farm, cows pass the field gate on their way to milking every morning. Possible down side of this site is noise from the main road where it seemed motorbikes held time trials and the train that also passes a field away. The slightly sloping field has a good track and was firm underfoot. The electric points were spaced around the field and the waste disposal near the center. In the next field to the site two bulls were staking there claim on the females. I think the site is very much a sideline in this busy dairy farm.

A Well looked after CL.

A friendly welcome from Mrs Kellaway on arrival. Very nicely situated site, with well mown grass. Slightly sloping and leveling blocks may be needed on some pitches. Used this site as a two night stopover En-Route to Cornwall from North Norfolk. Would certainly use this site again.

Good welcome

On arrival we were greeted very warmly by the owner Mrs Kellaway. The site is fairly level with electric hookups.Although a working farm it does not effect your stay in anyway. You can hear the main road but not to any degree to affect your stay. The town of Sherborne is quaint with a lovely museum.Sherbourne Castle is well worth a visit only about 10 minutes drive away.
