When you arrive there is a sign to say "telephone a number or go to the cottage" if the gate is locked. Normally they open it ready for you. Park up opposite if the gate is locked as the cottage is another 100m and no where easy to turn back. The cottage name is Ardecca which has bed and breakfast. The lane you drive down has only a short section where you can not pass and it should be possible to see that far. The gate has a key padlock which you are given a key to - no numerical number tumbler which sticks and difficult to turn in cold weather.
The photo shown on this site is a grass field next to the cottage and behind farm shed. I understand that now the hardstanding is always used which is the other side of the shed and this then has great views across the countryside. Advised to drive straight onto the hard standing, unhitch (caravan front then has views) and then drive the car off the grass. Hardstanding area is excellent and large. It is one big area for everyone so no problems staying on it if very wet. There is a tap for 4 of the sites next to them and a 5th a bit further away. Electric hook up also well positioned. If all 5 sites full you may feel a bit close to each othter but when there we had a mx of 3 and plenty of space/.privacy.
Unfortunatly the club does not have a facility for posting photos here but i will send the CL owner one of ours and we hope he will get it published on the site.
We stayed in january during a very wet and muddy winter, hence a great place.
Lots of local footpaths for dog walking and at the end of the lane a wooded area. These were all muddy due to the weatherbut the lane a great place to walk down with the dog as hardly any (none ) traffic.
With reference to the last review of 2016 about the entrance being tricky it is now very easy with the gate set back from the road and a large pull off area opposite you can swing into.
Convenient CL near Swindon
This CL is quiet, well tended, and plenty big enough, with water, electricity, toilet emptying and bins all close to. The owners are friendly, and the farm itself is some way from the A419. However, I found the area a bit run down, and, with a longish van and a big car, the entrance turn was a little tricky.
Nice peaceful CL and friendly reception
Stayed at this CL recently for a night and found it perfect for a quiet break. I had been concerned that its proximity to the A419 would mean traffic noise but on the contrary, I think I only heard 1 car going past all night (I think it's a no-through road that leads to the site). Easy to get to though. Lovely lady running the place was very friendly and helpful. Nice view across the fields.

Weekend away
This CL was ideal for parking the van up to go meet some friends for lunch nearby. The couple running the site are very helpful and extremely friendly. Graham even helped me park up the van and I was lucky enough to get some 'proper' farm eggs from Chris. Elec and water all close to hand with waste disposal just around the corner. Tons of space to roam and a fantastic dog walk to explore. Easy access to M4 and A419. Fantastic views across the fields with a really pink sunrise.
Peaceful CL
Great site. Great views. Chris is lovely! We used it to visit someone in the Great western Hospital just down the road, and wished we could have stayed longer.

motorhome owner
A lovely quiet cl site . The owners were very welcoming and friendly and both work very hard to keep the site immaculate very easy to find and we would recommend to pay this site a visit . There is hard standing for motorhomes and an extra bonus is that there is a tap right on your pitch .
