Not 5 acres

We booked this CL to swap to our new van from Preston Although it states 5 acres you cannot use this area for camping There’s a small strip of poorly kept pitches , so small you park your car by the pool area Its barely wide enough for a 7 feet van Grass overgrown , and really needs a good tidy up with old rubbish left on site Over looked by a row of houses The shower /toilet is probably the worst I’ve seen We won’t be returning and left early

Pleasant stopover in a basic CL

Gorlands CL is in a quiet village and conveniently located for the Preston area. Friendly owners, who run the small swimming pool onsite. The site is basic, don't expect manicured lawns, shower/ toilet block and an information hut! You will need to be self sufficient. There is electricity and fresh water accessible from all the concrete hard standings. But you do need a longer hose to reach the tap as the ground/ grassed areas can be soft after heavy rain. There are chickens and ducks wandering around and 2 sides of the CL are bounded by hedging and pasture land beyond. It cost £15pn. The village has a range of shops and eateries plus an Aldi is a short walk away. Recommended and will stay here again if I need to visit the area.

Nice site

Pleasant site, tucked away but close enough to walk to local shops, pubs etc. Would have helped if site owner had explained about road closure when we booked; turning round in the road with a trailer on the back is not the easiest manoeuvre! Diversion poorly signposted. Very disappointed not to have been able to use the swimming pool - proposed £28 charge for "exclusive use of pool for an hour" not acceptable.

Weekend Stay

Just arrived home after visiting this C/L. If you are travelling to the site within the next five months please be aware that Whiitingham Road is closed just on the Longridge side of the site. This caught us out and we had to turn round and use the diversion which is tricky. We received an excellent welcome from Mrs Rae. The site is peaceful and the pitches which are well spaced are ok. However, the site was waterlogged which I have to say spoilt the visit. The toilet is functional but dated but access onto the site is good. For convenience and to meet relatives we would use the site again but it would benefit from better drainage

Nice!

Just arrived back from a weekend away, the owners are extremely helpful.  No driving on grass at all.  However, there's plenty of room and the pitches are fine.  Our kids loved the hens that run round the field and there's a Shetland pony too.  Electricity is extra at £3.50 for a certain amount but it more than lasted us all weekend, though in colder months could be costly!   All in all a good site!

our first time with our caravan

This was our 1st holiday with our caravan, we chose Gorlands due to the easy accesses from the motorway, this site is very easy to find. The lady that runs this site made us feel most welcome, and her chickens lay the best every eggs yummy. Good for easy access for the trough bowland, Clitheroe and fylde coast We will be returning .
