Wonderful views, great walking

The owners were away when we arrived so we weren't sure where to go as the larger site is shared with others. We were soon settled thanks to help from another visitor - we did meet the owners later in our stay and they are friendly and welcoming. Although it was quiet when we visited we were concerned that the facilities (spotless) could have been under pressure in high season. Great walking (use OS maps), easy walk through the woods down to the lake (good cafe) and into the town. Do visit the Cycle Museum -although it's only open Mon, Tues and Sat - but a real gem of a place. We had lunch at the Golf Club (5 mins walk up the road from the site and open to non-members/golfers). Fantastic views over the surrounding countryside. Shame that the Grade II listed Rock Park (the only other one is in Bute Park Cardiff) is not well maintained nor are the wells.

Busy at Peak Times

We had a short stay here recently. The CL is situated in a Paddock with level ample size pitches with EHU & Drinking water. The site adjoins the Llandrindod Hall Caravan site offering around 15 pitches (family friendly) so it can be busy at times. The amenities are all shared so the 2 Toilet & Shower rooms were in demand in addition there is a Porta Loo. Our main disappointment was having to remove Dog Poo from around our unit. Dogs should be kept on a lead as per signage however it appears the resident dog likes to use the paddock as his toilet. The site is well located for visiting the Elan Valley the Kite Feeding Station with some nice walks from site also good for a stopover when touring Wales. Not my ideal CL as it was to busy with the shared facilities.

Good, well situated site, great walking opportunities, one or two things need keeping an eye on though....

Flat grassy site, well drained, and friendly owners. Fifteen minute walk around The Lake and into town. Owners have a butchers there with 10% off to caravanners, which we took advantage of, and bought two succulent steaks plus skewered chicken. There is a wonderful six mile circular walk from the site, and other spectacular walking opportunities within a short drive. The amenities were closed due to C19, and are shared with the small commercial site adjacent. Unfortunately you only get a partial glimpse of the beautiful views, due to the hedge being too high. A foot lower, and the views would be spectacular. The owners need to be more aware of dog dirt. There were two deposits outside the CL entrance gate, which had been there three days when we left. That aside, we would book again.

A brilliant site.

This is our second visit, and will certainly be returning in the future. On arrival we were greeted by the owners, together with their dogs! We had ample choice for our pitch, and enjoyed stunning views across the valley. As before, the facilities are spotless. Access is very easy and we had no difficulty driving up the hill with a 1.6 litre diesel. For about 50 yards the road does narrow, but visibility is good. We look forward to returning next year.

Stunning scenery,

Stunning scenery, very friendly welcome, peaceful, plenty of places to walk the dog, and to seen the Red Kites flying overhead was a real treat. We only stayed for 2 nights this time, but will definitely go back again for a longer stay.

Splendid Spot

Had a one night stop en route to the Wirral on 5 July. The site is easy to find and access is good. Made to feel very welcome by the owners and the dogs. Had lots of choice on where to park up. Picked a spot with absolutely splendid views of the mid Wales hills. Llandrindod Hall is a working farm which made the visit more enjoyable by getting an insight into the lives of others. Site facilities are excellent and spotlessly clean. Great to have lots of clearly marked footpaths to explore with the dog. The view from the top of the hills behind the farm is stunning. As we were only passing through we did not do any visits to local places of interest but I know the area well and the site is well placed for exploring mid Wales. Will definitely return for a longer stay. Loved the site. A privilege to be able to share such beautiful surroundings.

Superb! And Vinnie and Max are the Best!!

Excellent spot for peace tranquility and shear unwind from the stresses of life.Such ease on arrival lovely Pam left a welcome note and directions to our pitch. The facilities were spotless despite it being the week of the Enduro Welsh 2017 ... No dirty bike boots allowed in those loos !!! Lol! and Pam even washes shower curtains- she is a lovely host. Bruce and their boys are hard working about the farm and are very welcoming. The horse next to my van bedroom window was rather regal and aloof- a lovely vision though-but Vinnie and Max the farms working dogs were little gems. All in all an execellent site with walking acess to all local amenities lots of pubs and the interesting town of Llandridnod Wells. So tranquil even to just "be" and not venture out at all .... It rained all week but the sun was shining at Llandridnod Hall if only for the entertainment from its huge resident and majestic Cockerel and all his hens!! - Enjoy!!

Beautiful views but that's where it stops

Firstly the club book describes the approach as 'sloping with passing places' sloping is an understatement we have a powerful car and we were struggling in first gear! Luckily we didn't meet anything coming the other way!! The site itself has beautiful views but the grass was incredibly long and there was dog muck everywhere.  At the point my husband rolled the aqua roll through some dog muck we decided to leave and look elsewhere.  We appreciate this is a working farm but even as a working farm we would expect some basic standards of hygiene and presentation.  Very disappointing as we were looking forward to a few days of tranquility.
