Millands Farm

Very nice site with lots of room when 5users are on site. The CL site is to the left of the road up to the house and one night there was six staying on the CL site. Facilities are clean and well maintained.

Nice quiet site

This CL is situated about 1/2 ml off the A358 down a country lane between Axminster and Seaton at Musbury. There are 4 H/S pitches and one grass pitch, all facing to the East, off a tarmac drive up to the house. There are numerous drinking water taps as well as the EHU points along the hedge line behind the pitches. There is also an additional gated paddock with 4 H/S pitches, EHUs and a tap, separate from the site which we used as we had booked a H/S pitch and the 4 on the CL were occupied, and this suited us perfectly. The site has both a gents and ladies toilet, as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer for use of those staying in the CL. The owners were helpful and very friendly, as were their 2 German Shepherds!!😁 There is a bus service that passes the site which runs between Beer/Seaton and Axminster, and runs every hour. I'm not sure if one can just flag it down or that one has to walk up to Musbury to get on it. There are numerous N/T car parks in the area, at Branscombe, Golden Cap etc as well as Forde Abbey. Seaton, Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast are all within easy reach. Both Axminster and Seaton have a Tesco, the former with a fuel station, however the garage in Musbury is competitive on price and has a Spar shop ajoining. The land last the site is quiet and good for walking ones dog, and there are other footpaths close by. Just a word of caution, the road past the site is prone to flooding following a period of heavy rain and a spring tide, as we found out this autumn, having to wait till the water subsided before moving on, although the site itself was not under water. That said we would certainly use it again if staying in the area.

Brilliant

Visited this site in April. A lovely site with plenty of space and peaceful. Someone previously said it is a 8 place CL, this is not true - there were the 5 usual pitches but at one end of the field there was a gate into a hedged area where there were 3 long-stay pitches so we’re completely separate. Unfortunately when we arrived and connected up we discovered we had a water leak! We asked where the nearest caravan place was but were given much better assistance, Sue (Tina and Bert we’re out) texted a mobile caravan service engineer, he phoned back to say he was just finishing in Axmouth before going to see someone in Musbury then he’d come to see us. He arrived within 45 minutes and soon sorted out the problem; that was first class service.

Lovely site

Just back from staying at this lovely site. A large level grassed site with a tarmac drive running down the middle with four hard standing pitches and one grass to the left hand side. So no worries if you arrive and its been raining for a long time, which is always a concern when staying on grass. A very peaceful site and far enough away from the Axminster to Seaton road for it not the be heard and a good country lane into the site for access. As others have said its great to have access to washing machine and tumble drier (we didn’t use them) for a small nominal fee if you need them, but the bigger bonus was a gents and ladies toilet! So that was one less task I had to deal with for our three night stay. The double bonus was the option to buy home garden produce for a small fee – the tomatoes and cucumber where excellent, far nicer than shop brought ones. We meant to have brought the two remaining bags of tomatoes before leaving to take home, but forgot. Ggrrrhhhh! So if you are looking for a CL site in this area I would certainly consider this one and we hope to return.

Fabulous site.

We spent ten nights here towards the end of May 2019 and had a great time. Tina and Bertie are lovely people and very helpful. We enjoyed the fresh eggs that we always available. It was handy having the washing machine and dryer if needed. Travelling round the area was easy because we were close to the main A358. Exeter isn't too far away and the park and ride is an excellent way to use to go into the city. I thought Seaton was the best place for shopping (rather than Axminster) only 10 mins drive away and had a large Tesco and a Co-op. If we go to that area again I will certainly be giving Tina and Bertie a telephone call! Thank you for the lovely stay.

Fantastic Site, owners very welcoming and always on hand to assist.

We visit this site regularly all year round. It is a wonderful site with many facilities including washing and drying machines, £1 coins required. Freshly laid chicken and ducks eggs, as well as fresh produce in the summer to purchase. The site has been upgraded to include Large Hard Standing pitches, which has been a welcome asset to us as we can visit for longer stays during the winter months in our Motorhome. Wonderful location to explore three Counties, Devon, Dorset and Somerset. Regular bus route to explore the Jurassic Coast. Local garage, Spar shop with post office. Further more, take a walk along to the Lyme Bay winery just down the road.

Wonderful site!

Arriving after a long journey and three weeks from home, the washing machine and tumble dryer were welcome finds! Welcomed by Mr Harris on his grass cutter, this man does not stop working! Beautiful site, the nearest group of houses has a spar shop garage, and a good pub. But we were doing the tourist bit and found it easy to get to the area from here. You will need £1 coins (old ones as I write ) for washing machine and tumbler, the toilets are in the same building and good/clean. Four of the sites have their own water tap, near their electric point. We fused ours using too many things once, and the fuse was at the house, not at the point. No problem, always someone at home!

Lovely site but don't expect 5 vans!

This is a lovely site, with excellent facilities (2 toilets, laundry facilities, library and seasonal produce are available). It is in a great area for exploring East Devon and West Dorset. The main field is large and open and there is a smaller, more enclosed area at the bottom of the site, which the owners call the "Royal Enclosure". This section is more sheltered and is closer to the facilities, but can feel a little cramped if 4 vans (its capacity) are here. Question: What more could we want? Answer: The owners to obey the 5 van rule and not accept up to 12 units, as was the case during our stay. There were never fewer than 8 units and there were at least 10 for the bulk of our fortnight, peaking at 12 for 4 nights. We had expected to be sited on the main field. This gives more open views and is what one sees when researching the site on Google Maps. However, we were placed in the "Royal Enclosure" and we should have guessed that the 5 van rule was never going to be honoured, as the main field accommodates up to 8 vans on its own. While we were there, quite a bit of building work was going on with tractors toing and froing in our section and various noise emanating from the nearby barn. It would have been nice if Mr Harris had explained what was going on, and maybe apologised for the noise, but nothing was mentioned. Luckily the works were not every day but there was some disturbance throughout our stay. Many members return here and for them the 5 van rule may not be important. However, for those like us who are first time visitors and place great importance on the intimacy of a 5 van CL, it completely changed the feel of the site. It would be a shame if Millands Farm was removed from the CL register, as it is a high quality site.

Wonderful Peaceful Site

We had our first experience of staying on a CL site a couple of weeks ago when we stayed at Millands Farm with our 2 dogs. It is a really lovely site with huge pitches so plenty of room for our caravan, awning and car. Everyone staying on the site was very friendly and Mr and Mrs Harris the site owners were really helpful and made us feel very welcome. Easy access to nearby coastal villages with lots of choice for great places to eat. When we are next in South Devon we will definitely stay here again

Fantastic site

Fantastic site. Lovely location. What a gem - large pitches with plenty of space and lovely views. The site is very well maintained with short grass and spotless facilities. Mr and Mrs Harris are very welcoming and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. This is a site people keep coming back to year after year and we can understand why. Definitely a place to unwind and relax.
