Very Nice CL

We chose this site as a stopover so only stayed one night. The site is very clean and well kept. All waste facilities are very clean. All pitches are hard standing and quiet level with grass between. The CL is off the road behind the cricket pavilion and is screened from the road with hedges. There are open views onto the cricket pitch and beyond. The pub across the road is about a 5 minute walk away. The CL represents good value for money and we would stay again for a longer time to explore the area.

Mixed feelings

Basic , adequate site in cricket club grounds behind 2 sets gates . Pitches all hardstanding but only one EHU box , so those on furthest pitches need very long or an extension to reach . Elsan point and bins inside a wooden enclosure by second set of gates . Dennis comes around every so often to check all ok , but he can be reached by phone at most times (leave a message and he'll respond) . Golf Club and Pub right opposite on A525 , busy during the day but pretty quiet at night . Madeley (local village) has couple shops for basics , while main shops and superstores in Newcastle-u-Lyme or Crewe , both about 15 mins away . Keele University just down the road and the Potteries bit further on . Wedgwood and Gladstone Museums both worth a visit if you have time . Pity no toilet on site .

Great site for a stop over

We stayed here for a night on our way south, it's a great site with good open views. Would return and stay a bit longer to explore the area.

Lovely place to spend a night or two

We stayed at this site so that we could attend a friends birthday party at the wheatsheaf inn opposite. The site is basic but had the electic hook up which is all we needed for one night. Denis is a lovely man who made us very welcome and gave good advice about the local area. We will be back again.

Good little site

Stayed three nights whilst visiting our Granddaughter at Keele University. Very convenient for Keele and excellent access to the CL itself. Good hardstandings and adequate facilities. Note, this site now has EHU, but with only one electric supply box, so a couple of the pitches may require a long extension lead. The Wheatsheaf Inn is right across the road and serves a good range of standard pub food - nicely presented. Our only criticism is the close proximity to the A525, which is undoubtedly busy, but does quieten down at night. We would come again.

Great little find

We used this site as a convenient stopover from Shropshire on our way back to North Yorkshire and found it to be ideal. We had a drink at the pub opposite the cricket club and it looked like a good option for food too. Owner was welcoming and helpful. A short drive from the M6 so an ideal stopover when travelling on this route.

Beautiful, quiet site

Family and friends went to this CL last weekend. It was beautiful & quiet, easy to find. Lovely welcome from the owner who could not do enough to help. Although no electricity, the owner did say that he is hoping to have it installed soon. Right across from the Wheataheaf Pub, where the food was reasonably priced with huge portions, play area for the children & beer garden. Bridgemere Garden Centre and Dagfields is close by. As well as fruit picking at the Woore fruit farm. Will definitely return.
