Ease of arrival/welcome

5 nights summer hols Aug 2016

A little confusion on arrival as we hadn't been booked in? Communication error but luckily space was available. Ruth made us very welcome and the site is just what we like. Small, pretty and well kept. 5 pitches all well looked after. The facilities are dated and could be replaced next year but adequate for our short stay. Set amongst well established trees and mature shrubbery it has hard standings and areas for large awnings. Our neighbour kept letting there huge dog roam free but after a polite short conversation on the first day it was kept away as we have children. The site is just a short 5 minute drive to Ingoldmells, Fantasy Island and 10 minutes to Skegness sea front. Very easy access. It looks tight at first but I easily drove in and out with our long wheelbase VW Caravelle and our new Swift Challenger 620se twin axle. We are around 43' long so no problems. We will definitely use the Acre again and recommend to anyone looking for a quiet private basic site. We are already looking to go back for a weekend with no children!

Ignore the bad review.

As per title. We have just returned from a long weekend at the acre. It was impeccably looked after and in a perfect location. Close enough to ingoldmells and Skegness (5min drive) but far enough out for the peace and quiet. Handy little spares shop just down the road as well which helped us out of a hole when the hot water packed up :) Really warm welcome and quick tour round made setting up that bit easier. If you enjoy the basic nature of a cl as we do then this is a gem !!

Be very aware

Please be aware we visited this site last year and the owners crammed 9 vans on site and 2 of these were permanently there and rented to a young couple who were living in the small van the lad was violent and caused incidents on several days on site. One electric hook up was run off of indoor cable. Behind the site is a sewer station with wagons passing the entrance to the site 24/7. Photos to prove our concerns are available.

new year

Stayed on this site for the new year, Lovely site and nice welcome, we were told that one of the 2 showers was not working. The toilets were in complete darkness the first night but it was put right the next day. The other shower was not working all the time we were there so we had to shower in the caravan. we did report this but it was not repaired in the 4 days we were there. Lovely clean and pleasent site and will visit again provided that all the facilities are available (we will ask before we book) and suggest you do the same.
