great

i have to leave a review after having read the very negative review which imo should be removed.this a typical cl, has everything you need, the road is not a problem, the village has everything and from a cycling perspective it is surrounded by quiet roads.Donna showed us where everything was and we had a very happy 4 days and will return. Access is ok, we had a little bit of confusion as the cl sign showed 2 cl's and the entrance to the field is not obvious, the office/reception is just on lhs when you enter for newbies but its not a problem. finally at £15 this is great.

Old Farmhouse stay.

Just returned from a weekend at The Old Farmhouse, and just thought id address some other comments: 1.Yes road is fairly busy nearby but not that bad,and quiet by late afternoon. 2.Access is fine-I had no issues with a 7.5m van. 3.Chip shop and pub 5 min walk and both very good. 4.Head for Litcham Common on edge of village for lovely dog walks to Lexham or Castle Acre(6 miles-bus back Monday to Friday). 5.Adequate waste and water facilities. 6.Grass cut while we were there. Perfectly fine as a CL site,I guess if you want pristine facilities you go to a club site!

Lovely site

We’ve just had a lovely weekend at The Old Farmhouse cl site. There are some nice walks directly from the site. The village of Litcham has a little shop, a fish and chip shop, and a pub. The owners are very friendly and the site is well maintained, all in all we’ve had a very nice stay. We’ll definitely be returning soon.

More negatives than positives

The only positives are that there was a vacancy when we needed one and the location was convenient for visiting friends and relatives. The negatives are: 1) The site was very noisy, being close to a busy B road with a relatively large number of heavy lorries and noisy motor bikes. Also a few local people seemed to have very loud voices and there were the fighter jets from the local air force base. 2) The voltage appears to be variable, causing problems for water pumps and appliances. 3) Access is quite difficult for larger caravans.

Response from the Club:

The CL Owner has been in touch as they work really hard to ensure people have a wonderful time at their site and as such would like to address your concerns. The RAF planes are not active every day, but they do have exercises from time to time. The CL Site is not next to a road but has a meadow in between, traffic noise has never been raised as a problem before so we are sorry this disturbed your stay. Occasionally lorries do go by and sometimes a group of motorbikes will go past, but this is not continuous. There are school children who go up to their playing field during the week, but again this is not constant. They have never had any complaints about a variable voltage before, but they will check this out. As units are getting larger, the CL owners are advising members that if they need a larger entrance there is another one which they can make available for them. We hope this helps address your concerns and the CL owner looks forward to greeting their many regular visitors this year and to hopefully meeting many more.
