Very peaceful site

We have just returned from a four night stay at this very peaceful site. There are five large hardstanding pitches with ehu and they all seemed reasonably level. Access is over a small humpbacked bridge which could be tight. The toilets and shower facilities were absolutely fine, although we showered in our own van. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of good walks around the area. We travelled to Penrhyn Quarry, about 50mins away, to go on the zip wire which is a must if you are in the area. Also visited Bala and the Pontcysylite Aquaduct, which is another must when in the area. All in all a very pleasant stay and we hope to return.

Very peaceful

We stayed 5 nights, mostly with good weather. The site was very clean with good sized, level pitches. Nice toilets and shower, the shower did cost £1 but you got 20 mins ! I had a phone signal but hubs didn't, and you need satellite TV but you can hire a dish if need be, we didn't bother. We had some very nice chats with some of the locals who gave us directions of some of the walks we did and a bit of village history ( there are a few old abandoned buildings) As we were in a motorhome which we do not move once on site, it was a bit limiting as to getting out and about except for walking and bike rides so a car would be handy. However it was loverly just to have a bit of peace and quiet and relax. A loverly little site.

Quiet and Tranquil

Brilliant site, very nicely laid out, flat and quite. On site facilities, shower (£1) and toilet very clean. Warm welcome. Nice walks from site and close to Alwen Reservoir where you can walk, fish and bicycle. Will definitely return.

Lovely little site

We had a long weekend at this site over the recent Bank Holiday. The site is immaculately maintained. The toilets and shower are very clean. The owners must have taken note of the previous comment as there were name labels on each pitch when we arrived (although we were with friends and apparently some who arrived after them and before us did try to switch the name labels around!) It is everything you would want in a site. The only draw back is that it really is in the middle of nowhere, so is perhaps a better site for caravanners rather than motorhome/campervans unless you have transport or are using it as a stopping off point for a day or two. We would use it again, if in the area.

Another great week

We are just back from another great week away at this beautiful site. Excellent hard standing pitched (very hard!) with free satellite TV if you have your own cable & box. Clean facilities with separate WCs and shower. In a great location for this part of N Wales, lots to do and see. Ilan is very friendly and helpful. Definitely our favourite site in N Wales.

A well maintained and peaceful CL

We too missed the turning into the CL but I rang Ilan who walked from his house to show us where to turn. The village is so tiny and we were not far away at all. The site is quite and well maintained with well spaced hard standings. The facilities are clean and what you would expect. It's a good location from where to explore.

Superb CL site

We stayed here for 6 nights in November. It’s an excellent site in the heart of a very scenic area of North Wales. The hard standing pitches are a good size and the electric supply ans satellite connection are great. Other facilities include 2 toilets and a separate shower - the heating helps when it’s cold. The site and facilities are clean and well looked after and Ilan is very friendly and helpful. The site is located only a few miles from Rhug estate and Bala. The north and west coasts of Wales as well as Snowdonia are easily accessible. It as very peaceful being in the heart of the countryside and we were the only nes staying. We’ll be back.

Nice peaceful site, Enjoyed our stay.

Great sitting in the caravan watching the sheep and cows in the field opposite. Makes a nice change from the TV. On arrival in the village I missed the sign for the CL and continued up the road. Soon realised my mistake. It's was not obvious where to pitch and there was nobody around, so we pitched in the only available space. Only after levelling the caravan did somebody appear demanding my surname. She then hurried off to the house, returning 5 mins later to say we where on the correct pitch. (Maybe a marker board with the new arrivals name would be good). I chatted with Ilan the owner, on a few occasions. Very helpful chap, and I learnt the history of the site, farm house and church all very interesting. Facilities where clean and we would return. Thanks for having us!

So peaceful

Firstly like to say the interaction from the site owner Ilan was fantastic. He greeted us when parked up. When ever he was around he would stop and talk to you. He even took my sons to feed the cows which they loved. Site is clean. Has recycling facilities. For you mobile the reception can be really poor but there is WiFi available at an extra cost. If you like being in the middle of nowhere surrounded by hills and animals and quietness, this is the site for you!

Doesn't match the description in the Site Directory!

Just had a week at this CL, as other reviewers have said, it is peaceful and the scenery is beautiful, however, the Sites Directory 2021, page 531, very clearly states: 'TV reception good' This is a completely false statement as there is actually no terrestrial TV signal at all! When I mentioned this to the owner, Ilan, he told me that the club web site and the site's own web site both state that a satellite box is required. As there are probably many members out there who only check the printed site directory, I do not think this is satisfactory and the book description should read 'TV reception - none'. Ilan did lend me a satellite box for the evening of Sunday 11th July so I could watch England lose the final, but borrowing a box when you are in a motorhome, is not easy as it would all have to be unplugged and packed away every day when we went out. I also did not have a mobile phone signal so no good for keeping in touch with my elderly father in law.
