We love this site. The wardens are the best, always cheerful and helpful and always make you feel welcome. The toilet area is a little dated but are always kept absolutely spotlessly clean. It is a very friendly site. Spitting distance is a Tesco and Lidl store so no probs getting any provisions on your stay.  The site does not have much of a view unless your lucky enough to get a pitch overlooking the racecourse. However, do not let this put you off as you are only a few minutes walk into the very pretty market town of Thirsk with all that has to offer. There are some lovely local walks, eateries to suit all tastes and budgets, a reasonable variety of shops half of which are NOT boarded up as in most places. The site is also ideally situated for exploring some of the lovely areas North Yorkshire has to offer. There's also a good bus service from the Market Place going into places like York, Ripon, Northallerton etc. We're back here several more times this year, so for us that speaks volumes.
