A lovely location on the Lac de Sille, this site is most popular with campers and people using the onsite bungalows and tents. There were quite a few caravans and the site is relatively level and spread over a wide area. Pitches are marked by a wooden peg, other than that there's nothing to mark your area so people walk through your pitch en route for the toilets etc.
We stayed for three nights, it was fairly quiet, although very popular with young families so there was noise from tents, especially on our last night when it had rained almost non stop from 2pm, and several fraught parents got angry with their cold, wet, miserable children in cold, damp tents. Having said that, evening entertainment provided by the camp was very noisy, loud singing and music until 11pm on our first night.
Although run by Huttopia, who have a dreadful reputation, I was impressed by the friendliness of the site staff. Be warned, you may find yourself more than 25 meters from electricity, but they do lend extensions if necessary. Again, preferring to use our caravan, we didn't use the sanitary blocks, but ther were cleaned thoroughly, regularly.
There is a van selling pizza, frites etc, although we didn't use the en site food, preferring to walk the 15 minutes to one of the lake side restaurants. Food here is mediocre and not up to the usual high standard of French cuisine.
The nearby town of Sille has good shops and a Super U supermarket. There are some very pretty villages close by, Le Mans is avout 25 minutes away.
I'd stay here again, but only to break up a journey.
