Few facilities and virtually empty out of peak time
Nice but remote
This is the second time we have stayed at this site. This time during early July. Main snag with site is there is nothing in reasonable walking distance so you need to drive or go by bike. Site is partly terraced on a hillside with a few tight corners on the access roads. Toilet block at top of site - (toilets no seats) & showers (mainly in outside cabins). Lower block all locked up. Water taps on site are press button so filling a can takes lots of pushes. Motorhome service point at far end of site - it's a bollard type one like you would find on an Aire. Swimming pool was lovely. On site shop ok for beer etc but not much food. No food available in bar at lunch times as they close for lunch!. Although site rule of no noise after 10.30pm on one night the disco in the bar could be heard way across the site well past midnight. Visiting Pornic a few miles away is a must - a nice coastal town with supermarkets (Lidl etc). Also a visit to Nantes is recommended - about an hours drive - nice city & Les Machines de I'ile well worth a visit.
May Visit
Early season
Great location!
Toilet & shower facilites always kept clean with staff regulary in attendance. Some pitches were a bit too small & the terraced areas seemed a mass of tents & caravans with little or no privacy. Getting caravan on to pitch could be difficult due to narrow access in places and we witnessed one damaged caravan because of this. Refilling water barrels frustratingly slow and a common complaint - no problems with 8amps. Great location for exploring many local coves and beaches. Pornic very picturesque - definitely worth visiting.
Nice site in secluded location

Stay 19/07/2015 10 Nights
Great site international mix of Dutch, French and German, caravans/campers/statics. Good pool for the children not so for adults but not a complaint. Facilities very clean; attendant on duty for most of the day keeping them clean. Staff can speak English but a better rapport is developed if one at least attempts French. Either way we found them very polite, friendly and helpful. We were concerned about the access road to the site as we have a large van, 8.0m in length. Whilst the road to the site is on the narrow side so long as care is taken it is easy to negotiate. There are some tight turns on the site but they did not pose a problem for us, our pitch (No 175), was nice and shady and much larger than most UK sites. The site has strict rules about night time quiet (No vehicles permitted to site after 22:30), which made for a very peaceful and relaxing stay. The campsite is a 15 minute drive to Ponic Super U, a little longer to the beach. Nice restaurants in Pornic and Tharon Plage especially if you like seafood. Beach at Tharon Plage is nice and sandy, don't expect crystal clear seawater though, its clean but carries the silty murk of the Loire as the estuary is only 15 miles away - makes for excellent mussel though! Weather is great with nice cooling Atlantic Breeze. Would visit again.
