Located near Falmouth in south Cornwall, Penryn combines a fascinating history with a wide range of things to see and do. Much of the town's architecture dates back to Tudor, Jacobean and Georgian times and it was once the main port town on the Penryn River before it was superseded by Falmouth.
Penryn Town Museum is a great place to learn more about its rich history and is home to artefacts from Glasney College, Cornwall's 13th century medieval monastery.
The town is home to numerous cafes and bars and has been designated as an important conservation area. Nature lovers can head to Ennys Gardens, a 30-acre garden that is one of the area's hidden gems and home to some great tea rooms.
Alternatively, Kernow Wake Park is a great destination for adrenaline junkies and is very welcoming to beginners who want to learn how to wakeboard.
