Anyone who tows your van for a fee could invalidate their 'social, domestic and pleasure' vehicle insurance. Have you contacted commercial outfits who could do this for you? Better still, ask Northern Caravans to collect it.

Btw, I'd not publish my telephone number on a public forum and I hope it doesn’t backfire. The Community Manager can remove it if you have second thoughts. Placing it within your profile will restrict viewing to registered members.

I don't think it will invalidate your insurance as long as no profit is being made wink and you just get money to cover your losses. smile

If we use our private vehicles for our scout group we get a mileage allowance of about £0.45/mile.  This doesn’t invalidate our insurance

That’s not the same as receiving a fee, One, and I did say could invalidate insurance. I used my car for work on the same basis but, in my case, my employer's insurance covered me rather than my own.

It’s the 'for hire or reward' clause that could catch someone out so it would need to be done with great care and it’s something to be aware of.

It's simple. Who ever moves the caravan for Jane does so for free ... if however Jane wanted to make a 'contribution' 😉

But it digresses from the original post .....
