Hi folks,

I am looking for a cl for a one night stopover on our way south from Bolton to Cornwall for our summer holidays. We are going to be heading off after work on a Friday pm and would like to get a few hours travel under our belts Friday before a long days drive on the Saturday. Any recommendations of a cl within easy access of the M6 or the northern reaches of the M5 would be much appreciated. The ones I have found up to now either have no electric, poor reviews or are quite a distance from a motorway junction.

Cheers

Andy

How about Woodlands Farm near Worcester, easy access from the M5 J6, large grass pitches, EHU, has a loo but no shower. Pub just up the road. Might even be there at the same time heading in the opposite direction! smile

There are numerous CLs with EHU within easy reach of the M5 in the Weston-s-Mare/ Burnham/ Highbridge/ Bridgwater area around 130 miles from mid-Cornwall.

I'd look at places in Worcestershire as suggested or Gloucestershire. If you're very late you could stay on Gloucs Services LINK you'd have to manage without EHU but they do have good shower rooms etc.

edit just spotted Droitwich Spa Marina, close to the M5, another one to consider?

The OP wants EHU and it’s his choice. None of us know his circumstances or why he wants EHU, so why query his choice rather than helping him with his enquiry?

Some folk really don’t like others doing their own thing TW. It’s andyrmanc’s choice to use electric. It’s the control some posters try to exert over others, that’s something I don’t miss about the C&MC & some of its membership☹️

Because it would increase his choice of places to stay.

Of course  he might want to tow 200 miles from Bolton to Weston Super Mare or Bridgewater on a Friday night after work who know’s ?

We keep our van in storage and our requirement would be exactly the same to get the battery charged up before getting somewhere we may need the mover.

So far as sites are concerned there are many but it will of course depend on where the OP thinks they will be after a few hours and how many sites will take them at whatever time that happens to be.

Sites we have used, for the reverse journey, are Minnows at Sampford Peverell and Hortham Farm just off the M5 at Almondsbury.

There are many who do almost the entire journey and then park up to await the arrival time at their site

Two of my nephews travel down from Darwen, near Bolton, each year and have each successive year got that bit closer to try and avoid the chaos of a Saturday in the school holiday periods. Rather like the bird in the hand an hour on a Friday night could be worth at least two on the Saturday.
