Great site

Wow, what a fantastic site (didn't want to leave a review such a gem!). We stayed here for 10 days with family in another outfit. What a beautiful location, fantastic views of the castle, great for visiting Chester, Wales and Nantwich. Just a short walk to the Shropshire Union Canal. Clive couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating, even took the kids to visit the farm and then took my son fishing! Very relaxed site with lots of room for the kids to play Frisbee and a good dog walk from site. Would highly recommend, we'll definitely be returning. Thank you for a great holiday.

Barn find

Just had lovely weekend with friends at Barn View cl. Warm welcome from Clive and family, level pitches with well mown grass and views over to Beeston Castle. Easy access/exit to and from Hucksley lane. Will certainly visit again.

A Real Gem

We have just had our first stay on this site and we will certainly be back again. Lovely peaceful site with great view towards Beeston Castle. Owners were welcoming and helpful with lots of local knowledge for walks, visits etc. Site is kept immaculate and grass cut regularly with the clippings being picked up by the lawnmower. Noted previous comments about pitch spacing but we didn't think it was a problem. We agree though that the entrance is narrow and needs to be taken carefully. All round, a really lovely stay - we will be back !!

Well located CL and lovely owners

The site is well located for days out, pubs, towns, canals, cycling, and walking. It is accessed via a fairly narrow driveway, take it slowly though and you will be fine. You then have to drive over a field to the CL itself. Despite some torrential downpours, this field stayed firm. The spacing of units can be a bit haphazard as the EHU are not evenly spaced, meaning some units didn’t really consider how their pitching affected others and ended up with a pitch and half and everyone else was squashed into much smaller spaces and a bit on top of each other. A simple and easy solution would be pitch markers, or just leaving a small strip of long grass to denote the edges of each pitch. The site looks out toward Beeston Castle and it gets the sun for most of the day. We did suffer with a bit of late night/early morning noise from the farm not far behind the site, but this did only happen during the week, not at the weekend. There are two taps at the bottom of the site, along with elsan point bins and recycling bins. Grey waste can be piped into the field margins/ditch. The owners Clive, Jill and family are very friendly and Clive loves to chat (many a time he was called back to the house for his supper lol). He is a font of local knowledge and will give you advice on all the best places to go. Overall, a really nice site and great owners that just needs a tiny little tweak to pitch marking to make it spot on.

Blissful

Beautiful large grassy field. Views to Beeston castle & hills. Friendly welcome from Harry (son) who told us to take any pitch along the top. Short grass track across field to site. Clive popped along to see us later with info on local eateries, walks, places of interest. 20 min walk from site across field path and along canal to 'The Shady' a delightful canalside pub/restaurant with very good food. Thank you Clive & family for a restorative, restful stay.

Escape to the country

Enjoyed a 4 night blissful stay here. Countryside in all directions and beautiful view of Beeston Castle which we walked to on the Sandstone trail from site. Also close by to Shropshire union canal which we walked to lockgate cafe as recommended by Clive who was very helpful on local walks and cafes/pubs. No facilities but not a problem for us. One mile to lovely Tarporley village with everything you need. Thank you Clive.

Walkers Delight.

Stayed on this site for 2 nights. Very warm welcome from Clive. Quiet and peaceful with lovely view of the castle. Spent an afternoon walking to Beeston Castle to see the sights over Cheshire. 40 acres of woodland to walk around. Excellent experience of the site and area. Would definitely recommend.

What a peaceful friendly CL

Just returned from a 3 night stay and enjoyed it so much booked another week. We had a friendly welcome on arrival handed notes on local walks and local takeaway outlets even offering to collect for us. The site is large with huge pitches. Beautiful views across the Cheshire countryside. Facilities are all clean and tidy and easily accessible. The owner is always about if required and very friendly. There are numerous paths direct from the site on relatively level fields all are well waymarked and maintained. Can’t wait to revisit in August. The site free range chickens lay beautiful eggs. They don’t stray onto the site. Although grass pitches the grass is short and the ground firm no problems in our motorhome. Keep it quiet though otherwise it will get to busy. 😄

A simply perfect CL

This is a very new CL and not as yet in the site directory and the pictures on the Caravan Club website do it no favours whatsoever.

Great location, great views, large lawned field with lots of space between pitching areas, easy access from major routes (no narrow single track roads), great hosts, great walking, free carp fishing on site.

Simply wonderful just as a CL should be.
