Busy site

In over 25 years of caravanning, mostly using CL’s including working farms, I have never written a review until now. The wet room design of the toilet and shower rooms are spacious and modern but one oversight is the lack of a mop, not a huge problem until it rains! The gravel track that runs through the CL is full of large potholes that flood after rain. Unbelievably this track is the main thoroughfare for ALL traffic going to the holiday cottages, worker’s cottage, farm fields and barn. It didn’t take long for the tractors, cars and HGV lorries to turn this track into a quagmire. Caravaners wanting to access bins, toilets and showers have to pick their way across the mud resulting in a mess in the wet room. Pitch 1 is particularly narrow. We pitched the caravan so that it was within the conifer hedge at the back but even so, the tow hitch was close the the edge of the track. HGV’s arrived to load grain from the barn next to the CL and as they negotiated the bend they were within inches of our caravan. Not only was this an unnerving experience it resulted in mud being splashed over the van and awning. Trying to keep the caravan carpets clean was hard work as we have a dog. Northumberland never fails to impress but this CL certainly did.
