AMAZING SITE HUGE PITCHES

Love it here and we are looking forward to arriving again in August yippee, great walk round a lake with our dog,so peaceful the pitches are private and huge, only one little niggle is the fact you need to cut across grass to get to the hardstanding pitch, maybe a little gravel drive to each pitch would make sense as it will save the grass being churned up in bad weather..we brought back some gorgeous cheese after visiting the cheese factory yum yum ,i just love this site and i am sure you will not be disappointed.

Wonderfully spacious pitch on very peaceful site. Water and electric on pitch, toilet and shower facilities a bit further away in main building complex. Unfortunately, a rather misleading sign on the main door of the family bathroom (perhaps left from Covid?) but which seemed to be happily ignored. Also a seemingly unavoidable problem with grass cuttings from the camping field in the showers - might I suggest a squeegee rather than a brush? Lovely walk around the adjoining lake and an added bonus of a coffee shop/eatery on site as well as a glass making showroom and cheese maker.

We stayed three nights in August 2023. A delightful site. Pitches are huge with access to water on each pitch. Toilets were immaculate. The coffee shop next door was a bonus. We recommend this site unreservedly.

Good CL

We stayed here in mid April, the weather was not great so we were a bit worried about the drive over the very wet grass to access the hard standings, but it went fine in the end. 3 very large, hedged pitches (no, 3,4 and 5) and 2 which are also large but more open as the hedges have not yet grown tall. We were on pitch 4, which is conveniently close to the waste and toilet emptying, but not immediately next to it. Toilets and showers were good, I used the toilet but decided to shower in the van as it was a bit far to go in the rain. Directions were clear and access good even for larger outfits. We visited some places on the coast, Maryport and Whitehaven are particularly interesting. Carlisle is also worth a visit, but as we have stayed in the area before, we only did a little shopping there.

Crofton Hall

Just had a great 5 nights at Crofton Hall. I am originally from the Carlisle area and have stayed at lots of sites in the area visiting family but this is by far the best every thing is well kept and possibly the biggest pitch I have ever stayed on A proper hidden gem.

Very private site

Directions were very clear and detailed. Don’t go through the arch! Site was very spacious, each pitch spectated by bushes. EHU, water & grey water disposal on each pitch. Elsan a short walk. Toilet and shower were quite a walk away (in the main house area) All in all a very clean and well kept site. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely site

We have stayed at this site twice this year and due to go back again in August. The location was excellent for getting to Carlisle and to and from the motorway. The size of the pitches were incredible, the biggest pitch size we have ever stayed on. Each pitch had their own electric point and water supply. We will definitely make this a place to go to again and again.

Superb

Our second visit in twelve months the first last August for one night and so impressed we are back for a few nights now in late April The pitches are excellent and the entire site is well maintained WC/shower facilities are a short walk away offering and are clean but basic Crofton cafe on site is wonderful find breakfast and lunches are not to be missed and the glass shop next door has something for everyone. A lovely walk around the fishing lake next door very suitable for those with mobility issues including wheelchair users Carlisle and the Solway coast are very close and the northern Lake District is only a short drive away I’m sure we will return very soon

Lovely Site

Lovely site and everything was great including the pre site arrival instructions which is good as we didn't see anyone all weekend. Our only slight criticism was the family bathroom which despite having male and female toilets and 4 separate showers, it can only be used by one person or family at a time which must cause queues at peak periods.
