Excellent CL

We visited this CL at the beginning of September - a very peaceful location in very well kept grounds. Within easy reach of Louth - a 45 minute walk though Cow Pasture Wood if you're up for it.  Morrisons seems to be the nearest supermarket, and try the stuffed chine at Lakings butchers. Their pies were recommended, but we didn't get chance. Their Lincolnshire sausages were great on the BBQ. We made it over to Gibraltar Point and the east coast, Lincoln and the cathedral and did some walking in the Wolds. The wide selection of information in the hut on site was much appreciated. One to visit again we think!

Big beautiful site

This site is lovely very big field for caravans so you can be well spaced out. Hookups are in the middle of the field 3 different ones with 2 or 3 hookup points each, which are easy to reach with a normal cable. There is an information hut with a safe to post your money into at £72 for the week very good value. We paid £84 for the week not knowing the 7th night is free and the owner contacted me and returned the £12 to me which I thought was very honest. The information hut also has information on local walks and things to do. The is some road noise but not at night and the geese do give you an early morning wake up call, which we thought was amusing. Good site for dog owners such ourselves miles of bridle way and footpaths to walk straight from the site. You can walk to Louth but it's a good 5 miles return walk along pavements. Louth is such a pretty town with lots of historic buildings and an amazing bakery poklingtons is a must if you like cakes worth the walk alone. Well recommended site will be back.

Nice CL in a good location

Visited this CL for a weekend break, it is nicely situated just on the outskirts of Louth. On arrival there is sign that tells you to "Pitch where you like" the CL field is quite large and reasonably level, grass is kept nicely trimmed and all clippings are collected, the site is generally very well cared for. As others have mentioned electric hook ups are located in the middle of the field which means a long lead is required, although our standard 25m lead was sufficient for us. We never saw the owners during our stay, you place your payment in a safe which is located in the information hut - and it is fantastic value at £10 per night, or £60 per week including electric. There are no toilets or showers but if you have onboard facilities this is no hardship. I would highly recommend this CL for a peaceful relaxing break

Fantastic Quiet CL

Could stay only for one night but this is a great CL. Beautifully kept in a quiet location close to Louth. We walked into Louth across the footpaths which took us about 45 minutes. Louth is a very interesting market town with a Farmer's Market every 4th Wednesday in the month. A great location for dogs as there is a lovely circular walk passed the church and into the woods. The site is large, sheltered with plenty of space. You can locate your unit where you want and there is some space on hard standing/entrance if the weather is very poor. Great site for a leisurely holiday/stay. Only problem was filling the motorhome up with water as the tap was not a regular outdoor tap fitting. You will need a universal connection. Will get one for my next visit!

Peace & quiet

What nice peaceful site. We arrived late on Sat afternoon but a nice spot. Extremely tidy well kept site. The only tiny downside was the hook up points were quite a way from the vans so long leads a required. Really enjoy our brief stay and will certainly use the site again.

Arrive in the snow!!!

I can only agree with lukijb's review. We have just had 5 nights there (Feb 2013) and would just add a comment. Arriving as snow started we elected to use the two hard standings by the entrance. As the EHU points are central, these are a bit of a stretch for a 25m cable but just reach. The ground drains well. The overnight snow turned to rain and the field was a bit soggy, but a day or so later and had all firmed up. It's a bit strange seeing no one to welcome or moan at you but it all works well as far as we were concerned. So recommended.

A little gem!

This is a really great site, fantastic walking over the estate's fields and within walking distance (40mins) of Louth. The site is lawned, with an info hut at the entrance with an honesty safe for payment. A real bonus they don't have all those silly extra charges i.e. awning, dogs, extra people etc seen at other sCL's-just £10 a night/£60 a week. The electric points are unusual as they are in the middle rather that outside, but can be accessed with no problems. Would recommend this to all.
