Step back in time.

Forest Lodge Farm can only be described as quirky! From the initial entrance with a menagerie of various breeds of Chickens, through the fascinating farmers graveyard of old ploughs, tractors and the odd caravan thats seen better days, along the narrow track and into the camping field, its like driving back in time. The site offers the peace and quite one would hope for with south facing views of the ponies in the adjacent field. A public footpath runs along the side of the land so no excuse not to go for a walk. The local Pub is about 200yds up the footpath, far too convenient! There are no loo’s, or hook up’s, yes the grass was long, and yes, it isn’t flat. The CDP is a little Heath Robinson but functional, but thats the charm of this place. Throw in a gorgeous little pond stocked with hundreds of Roach and Rudd and plentiful Mirror Carp up to about 8lb and all for a fiver a night! What more could you want? To end a delightful couple of days fate conspired to keep us here even longer. An old Oak tree probably a couple of hundred years old decided, for no apparent reason, to fall across the trackway leading into the camping field. We were trapped!…but only until resourceful John, the farmer cleared a new entrance on the other side of the field! Visit the farm and enjoy your step back in time, and don’t you dare complain!
