one night stay

We had a very friendly welcome on arrival, thats as good as it goes for me, the site is ok for a stop off point from north to south or south to north, but no good for a week away, veiws are overlooking caravan storage , path to toilets are very slippy and toilet block is not good at all, i am always honest with my reviews

Great CL

We love this site. We stayed for 3 nights, for a short break, but wish we could have stayed longer. As all other reviewers have said its convenient for the motorway but its more than just a stopover. The canal is so close by for easy walks. The train station is nearby also convenient for days out to Southport or Manchester. The pitches are great and the toilet is spotless. What makes the site great are the owners. So friendly and helpful. We had the added bonus of having a tree full of damsons on our pitch and Pam was happy to let us help ourselves to pick them. We would recommend this site, and will go back.

Lovely convenient site

Lovely convenient site ideal for breaking a journey North to South / South to North. Literally 4 minutes off the M6. The noise can be heard from the motorway but it's a small price to pay for the location. Site detail says no toilet but this has changed and facilities were great. Nice hard standings surrounded by perfectly cut grass Access to the canal is two minutes away and is ideal for walking, cycling, running... We walked 15 mins along the canal to a local pub. Good selection of drinks and tasty food. Will definitely visit again. Warm welcome received from Pam who also had great knowledge of the area in general.

Convienient location ideal for overnight stop

Our visit to Gathurst Hall Farm was great. Pam was helpful prior to arriving and then very welcoming once we arrived. She explained everything necessary with regards to the site facilites and going off it - the site is very secure with access via locked gates. We were on a good sized, hard standing pitch, with electrical hook up. There was a sizable area of grass to set up an awning on the caravan. The pitches were well placed to facilities such as a tap with fresh water and the chemical toilet disposal point. We stayed a couple of days but, we would definately consider using this site again because of it convienience to Wigan, amenities (inc. spares & gas stockists) price and its ease of access (Off J27 of the M6). We throughly recomend this site.

Cosy and friendly new site conveniently sited near M6

We chose to stay at this site during our visit to Wigan to be closer to our family. There aren't many campsites in the area, so discovering this one nearby was a real find. It's a newly established site that offers a peaceful and tranquil setting. It features three hardstanding pitches, 16amp EHU, water, and elsan disposal facilities. The owner of the site is incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We had no trouble locating the site, and it provides a secure environment for guests with padlocked gates - you are provided a key for your stay. The pricing is fair at £22 per night, including EHU. Conveniently situated between junctions 26 and 27, this site is an ideal stopover for those traveling on the north-south route of the M6, offering a perfect overnight resting place. There is some noise from the nearby motorway, but it's not too intrusive. Note that there's no facilities for children, and limited dog walking areas on the working farm. We really enjoyed our stay here, many thanks to Pam.
