One of real gems

Gathurst Hall Farm
Loved our stay, Pam makes you feel at home and so welcome, a really interesting lady. The famous and historic Gathurst Gap is on the door step about a 5 minute stroll. Getting to the site is easy as it is just off the M6, great for travel up and down the motorway, but stay longer, it's worth it. You can hear the motorway, but we didn't find it a problem. There is a neat caravan area in front of you, not a problem.

Excellent place to stay

Gathurst Hall Farm
We needed a place to stay in the Wigan area as our son was completing a Track Days event for his birthday so we decided to make a weekend of it being bank holiday. We struggled to find a full site in the area and stumble across this CL. It was so easy to book. Lovely welcome by Pam who gave us all the local information regarding facilities (shops, butchers pubs, walks etc …). Lovely watching the horses whilst cooking breakfast. Yes you can hear (and see) the motorway but it’s not a problem. Make sure you don’t follow the sat nav at the last point wait until you see the CL sign. We came off the motorway at J26 and it was easy to find. Will definitely use this site again if in the area. Thank you ☺️

We was welcomed with a friendly manner, Pamela new such alot about wild animals, Also she was very helpful in letting us know places to visit in the area a lovely walk along the canal which after about 20 minutes you come to crooke in ,pub which we all enjoyed a meal, Also Pamela let us have some wild garlic which tasted delicious and we took some home to plant 😁👌 all four of us said we would definitely go again such warm friendly and pleasant sight, which made our wk-end enjoyable, and Relaxing, 😁

one night stay

Gathurst Hall Farm
We had a very friendly welcome on arrival, thats as good as it goes for me, the site is ok for a stop off point from north to south or south to north, but no good for a week away, veiws are overlooking caravan storage , path to toilets are very slippy and toilet block is not good at all, i am always honest with my reviews

Great CL

Gathurst Hall Farm
We love this site. We stayed for 3 nights, for a short break, but wish we could have stayed longer. As all other reviewers have said its convenient for the motorway but its more than just a stopover. The canal is so close by for easy walks. The train station is nearby also convenient for days out to Southport or Manchester. The pitches are great and the toilet is spotless. What makes the site great are the owners. So friendly and helpful. We had the added bonus of having a tree full of damsons on our pitch and Pam was happy to let us help ourselves to pick them. We would recommend this site, and will go back.
