Refreshing ambition of new owners

My wife, my dog and I stayed here in April 2019. It has changed a lot from the picture, as the new owners just starting their second season have already made noticeable improvements and have plans to upgrade some of the older features inherited on purchase. Emma gave us a very friendly and warm welcome. The site is very quiet with plenty of nearby bridleways and walks to do. There is a well-hidden link to a bridleway that link across to Dalby and East Riding forests. As as mountain bike rider I found the location very useful with interesting rides. You will have to hunt a bit for some of them, and you can forget the SATNAV in the car as they pick up the bridleways as roads. Fine if you have a 4 x 4, otherwise beware!. The site is relatively level with gravel hardstanding. Access is easy. The drinking water taps are handy. The grey waste and chemical waste points need upgrading and Emma has plans for that to be addressed this year. Until that happens, the grey waste is a bit further away and is lift up to empty into a raised receptacle that has no support. I would suggest emptying at half-full. The chemical waste is a little old and small and needs modernising. Having said that we have seen much worse, and they are both functional. The toilet and shower are found in an old decommissioned and re-styled static caravan. The shower is electric and the cubicle clean with plenty of room to dry off. It and the toilet may benefit from a heater on colder mornings!! We have met a lot of owners and travelled around quite a bit and this site is full of potential. Emma is keen and enthusiastic to make the site work and from their direction of travel it should prove to be very successful. The pluses far outweigh the negatives and we will hopefully return to the site and enjoy another great week. The quirky nature of the facilities make it different but until the grey and chemical waste points are upgraded then we can only give 4 stars. Thank you Emma for a lovely week.
