Good for visiting local area

Care needed with large caravan as turning is tight from narrow lane on a bend. The site is part of a larger field partitioned off by a live electric fence and when we visited the grass needed cutting as it was at least 8 inches long. There is only one water tap and the toilet emptying point is through a piece broken off in a manhole cover with no tap to rinse it out. On the positive side quiet with good views and access to local area

This CL is located in a fantastic cycling area nice and flat

We stayed here in the month of July we had two weeks of lovely weather and cycled miles around the local roads seafront and military canal all nice and flat. The site is set well back from the little used road. We didn't see much of the owners The only criticism I had was the gateway entrance approaching from the east is a really tight turn into CL with a large twin axle caravan we just about squeezed in smaller vans would have no problem. On our departure we took a different route out as turning left out we would have had the same problem. Best check on Google street view to see the turn Other than that its well worth a visit and we would certainly use this CL again but we would come in from the west with our large twin axle caravan

Recent visit

We have just had a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend visit and it could not have been lovelier. Other users were on site, friendly waves all round (of course). Beautiful walks and if you want to go 'off grid' this is the place for you. Large field, plenty of space and privacy, no noise from anywhere, just birdsong and clear open skies. We really hope to visit again very soon. During our visit there was indeed a motor home present which did not seem go have any difficulties, however I cannot speak for them. It is what it is, unspoilt and basic and just great!

Lovely peaceful site

This site is situated in a large field on the edge of Romney Marsh. It has beautiful views of the nearby downs. The facilities are very basic. When we visited in October the water had been moved nearer to the house which made it difficult for us in our motorhome as we had to use bottles rather than fill our tank. The field is grazed alternately by horses and the grass was very short with lots of worm casts which made it very muddy after rain. In fact I would say too slippery for motorhomes. The nearest shop is at the C&CC site about ten minutes walk away. For any other facilities the nearest is Hythe which is probably a 2 hour walk. We did walk to Dymchurch across footpaths which took us about an hour. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is a lovely site with lots of lovely, easy walks and great for cycling (if you remember to take your bikes!).
