Hidden gem.

This is a pretty site. The pitches are large and level, divided by hedges. We only had a stopover but would have liked to stay longer.

Quiet and relaxing

A nice layout with views from most pitches. We had a relaxing stay with no problems at all. Would stay again for sure.

Lovely well maintain site. Own tap and buckets at each pitch make it very good value for money. Would stay here again with out hesitation.

Quiet and Lovely site

This is our second trip to this wonderful CL site and would highly recommend although we hope it doesn't get so busy that we can't get back. No toilet or shower block so you have to be happy to use your own facilities. What you get is h/s , ehu, water tap and bins at each pitch. It also has two chemical dumps and one grey water disposal point. As said pitches 1 and 5 have the pick of the views but pitches 2/3/4 can have better views if vans park across the pitch which there is plenty of space to allow. Good base for visiting various locations with Perth and Pitlochry around 20 miles away. Fantastic site giving real value for money.

Holm rig

Quiet well maintained site and it was a pleasure to spend some time here. I read the review about the access road up to the site but had no problems negotiating it with my front wheel drive car.

What a pleasant surprise!

We arrived at Holmrigg after reading in the caravan club book that there was one hard standing serviced pitch (or that's how we read it) to find that not only were all pitches hard standing with their own electric and water but each pitch also had it's own rubbish bin and recycling bin and crate! We were lucky to go on Pitch 5 with was in an elevated position away from the other pitches with a fantastic view. Being a little higher did mean it was a bit windy but that was a small price to pay for such a fantastic view. Pitches 1 and 2 also had excellent views, with pitches 3 and 4 being at the back of the site and not so clear views. One word of warning - as there had been a heavy downpour prior to us arriving the steep drive up to the site was extremely wet and slippy - we had no problem getting up with our 4X4 however my parents struggled and we had to pull their van up. Blairgowrie was a 5/10 minute drive away. Lovely town with several shops and a large Tesco. The Indian Restaurant Sampan provided us with a beautiful takeaway and we were able to sit outside the hotel opposite having a drink whilst we waited for it. Perth is about 17 miles away and a walk up the Kinnoull Hills is a must - the views from the top are fantastic. Scone Palace was a nice place to visit on our 'rainy day'. Fortunately the rain stopped after we had been around the palace so we were able to walk through the grounds and go into the Tartan Maze. About an hour and a half drive takes you to the Cairngorms. We went on the railway to the top and were lucky to have a fantastic clear day. You could see for miles. We were able to sit on the sofas inside the bar area and sit having a drink with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. All in all a great site in a stunning location.
