A little gem of a site!

We stayed three days at this gem of a site, while visiting Winchester Christmas market. the location was perfect, there's a fabulous pub with great food and service just ten minutes walk away, opposite the pub is the bus stop to Winchester. The site itself is a well kept, firm grass field (we were 3.8t on wet grass with no problem at all) with water, waste disposal, and EHU. all for a price that's very rare these days. The site has fabulous views day and night. There is a beautiful dog walk just a few minutes down the road along an old railway track (track removed 1940's) Harry, the manager, was great, communicative and helpful. This is definitely a hidden gem.

Perfect

Beautiful no fuss site, all paid for and booked online. Apart from a brief chat on the phone for code to gate ( our fault) We didn’t see anyone which we much prefer. Views are stunning, peaceful land well kept. Not far from Winchester and stunning walks along the river. Highly recommend

Beautiful views and Peaceful Location

Booked this location without realising what a "certificated site" implied - absolutely perfect for our 2 nights stay. Stunning views across the countryside in a very peaceful location. You are on the top of a hill - hence wonderful views and sunsets - but it could be a bit breezy as a consequence. It is just on the edge of the village so an easy 5 mins walk to local pub - which had homemade pizzas on Friday - King Charles. There was a Tesco Metro a bit further into the village. We did not go to Winchester but it certainly is very conveniently placed for it. We cycled to the Bombay Sapphire Distillery - really lovely cycling area on quiet country lanes. All in all would happily come back here and definitely recommend it as a place to stay.

We've stayed 3 times, think that says it all

Lovely far reaching views, well kept large field. Plenty of space when outfits park considerately. Some background noise from traffic, but not much considering you are within easy reach of the M3 and A34. Also trains, but you soon get used to these. Top tip - approach from M3 direction, we explored the alternative route in from the A34 solo and the narrow roads would make this hard work when towing! At the top of a hill, so can get windy, so bring storm guys for your awning to be on the safe side. Convenient location for Winchester and surrounding areas. King Charles pub within walking distance and Cart and Horses (where we preferred the food) is 5 mins away by car. Surprised that there is no recycling, everything goes into one bin. We enjoy our stays here and site provides for all our needs.  Lots of walks locally, including some from the site.

Our first visit and hope to return soon

This was the first time we have visited a certified site and we were not disappointed, it provides the basics which is all we require and the site was well maintained. Can't wait to return and explore more of the area.

What a gem

What a gem of a place to stay , it is grass but we had no trouble with our 8m motorhome in November ,we did use tire mats to prevent any unwanted damage to the pitch. Definitely one we will return to.

A L”lovely site!

What a great place! Perfect for visiting Winchester & the local area. Super quiet & rural yet very easy to access & close to M3 & A34. The views are spectacular, bring binoculars! Stunning Autumnal sunset & sunrise made a short stay magical. Very well maintained site, flat & with simple but perfectly functional & practical facilities. A great find!

Beautiful setting

A lovely site set in beautiful countryside. Welcomed by Harry even though he and his family very busy harvesting. Site well laid out and securely gated. Walked down to local pub, very covid safe, hill on way back but not far. We stayed a week ago on a stopover but hope to return.

An absolutely gorgeous site ...

This lovely site is well managed, tidy and clean with good locations for water/electric points, allowing a great choice of pitching area. The locked entrance gate provides reassuring security. There are beautiful views across farmland to rolling hills and Winchester city and the subtle nightime glow of Southampton in the distance. This really is a beautiful CL that has been very thoughtfully created and laid out. There is a lovely village pub 'The King Charles' a short distance away, walking distance for the fit - it is uphill all the way back!, which serves big portions of seriously good food. I cannot recommend this CL enough, we will definately be back and it is an absolute gem on the Caravan Clubs network - well done Harry and Nigel.

Excellent, quiet site

An excellent, quiet, level site with an open view to the south and easy access to Winchester and a half hour drive to places like Chawton (for Jane Austen fans) and Selbourne (for Gilbert White fans). Access to the site itself is easy and we had a pitch with close proximity to water as well as electricity.
